Jagmohan Dalmiya, the former president of the Indian board and the former ICC President has been suspended from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and banned from attending board meetings.

Dalmiya's accounts are being investigated by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Crime Branch after the alleged embezzlement of Rs 21.74 lakh (US$49,000) from the World Cup 1996 account.

Reports will be submitted to the court of Justice VM Kanade tomorrow.

Hardly .... most would call it political witch hunting and I tend to agree.

So do I,
Lalit Modi has definately launched a witch hunt against Jagmohan Dalmiya.
Also, the BCCI is not very keen on letting Dalmiya started tournaments to continue-Asia Cup for example.
That explains a lot.

News is that Dalmiya has been suspended for 6 months. But some disciplinary commitee will decide his ultimate fate.

If Dalmiya was found over a dead body, clutching a bloody knife, and said to the police, "I'm glad I killed the *******", he could probably get out of it.
