James Anderson made a sparkling start to his England career in Australia. He had a good world cup and did well in the 2003 Natwest Series, Natwest Challenge, but after being forced to change his action, he never looked the same player. His performances for England since that were pretty average and eventually lost his place in the test and one day team.

But his statistics still show that he is a decent bowler, and England might consider giving him another shot. Personally I would like to see him for the ODIs in Pakistan.

Some stats:

ODIs:
Matches - 39
Wickets - 59
BB - 4/25
Average - 25.49

2005 Limited Overs or List A (County):
Matches - 9
Wickets - 13
BB - 3/18
Average - 17.23

Decent, but England is doing well with what they have right now.He is a good option though.

If he has any talent,i'm sure he'll have at least one match.Englands bowling is doing quite well at the moment, but there will always bad spots, and he may get his chance when one of these troughs comes along.

He has a lot of talent but has been put back ,progress wise because it was apparantly clever to change his action.

He just needs to play a couple of seasons of cricket, rekindle his rhythm, accuracy and swing. I think if all goes well he will go to the world cup replacing Jones or Gough hopefully (If they continue their bad form)

He probably will play for england if he gets picked for a tour. But seems like he has dropped down the pecking order with guys like Jon Lewis and Chris Tremlett jumping ahead of him
