Joypad Problem

I am having a problem with my joypad as it does not allow me to hit 6's or play an advance shot. Even when I re-configure my joypad controls when I go to play the shots nothing happens. I can play forward and backward shots fine.
Is it a problem with my joypad, which is a Saitek P150. It has 6 buttons on the front and 2 buttons on the back. If so could someone recommend a joypad which would work.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hmm, strange. Do you have problems with any other games? I use a bog-standard PC Sprint pad with 6 buttons and that seems to work fine.
