Ramiz Raja has shook the world. He has got 15 other boards to agree on a crazy Knockout Cup concept. Ramiz Raja not only got boards from England, Australia to agree, he even got BCCI to agree on this concept. In another shocking twist, PlanetCricket was awarded as the streaming partner with the drunkard Ravi Shastri WutUpMahGlipGlops aka Rick Sanchez to be the host.

Rick was able to get some interviews from cricket presidents

Toss - United Arab Emirates won the toss and elected to Bat first.

UAE after winning the toss and batting first put a decent total. Consistent contributions from all their batsman meant that they could put up a challenging task for the Afghan batsman. Afghanistan on the other hand used as many as 7 bowlers and apart from Naveen-Ul-Haq, all other bowlers went for plenty. UAE's Waseem Muhammad would be kicking himself for playing a KL Rahul' isque inning and scoring 38 runs from 41 deliveries. If not for the final push, UAE could have been restricted to under 150 runs.

Over 350 runs scored across both the innings and only 7 wickets fell. The scorecard tells you how nice a T20 wicket that was to bat on. Afghanistan were in a bit of a spot as they lost 2 quick wickets for only 36 on the board but Rahmanullah and Zadran had different plans. Gurbaz with Zadran put a scintillating partnership of 118 runs and knocked UAE out of this competition. Meiyappan bowled well for his quota of 4 overs but others kept leaking runs. Like Afghanistan, UAE too used 7 bowlers. If Meiyappan had support from other end, I am sure UAE would have competed better. In the end Afghanistan proved to be the better side and chased 182 runs with 8 balls to spare.

An inning full of potential and never got off. This is a 200 run pitch and scoring 168 is half decent. Netherland would be kicking itself as they could not press on and score more. 169 is still a decent target but its a batting paradise and Colin and Max's inning just show why. Both looked extremely dangerous when they were batting. Santner and Boult were New Zealand's best bowlers of the lot with great economy but Sodhi's middle order wickets put a break on Netherland. If not for Leede's late blows, Netherland would be struggling to save the match.

Martin Guptill!! What a brilliant 100 in just 57 deliveries. After a slow start and losing Daryl Mitchell early, Guptill and Williamson steadied the ship and even got them home. Williamson departed at the score 127 and it was already too late for Netherlands to even come back in the game. The bowling effort from them was poor and on unfortunately they get knocked out of this tournament. New Zealand advance and will play Afghanistan in the quarterfinals. Should be a cracker of a game.
