Two hood movies, Barbershop and Friday.
Barbershop was enjoyable on the whole. It starts a bit slow and gets a bit boring, but the plot picks up and it gets quite interesting. Not really the comedy I expected, but it seems about as close to hood life as you'll see in a movie. The start, though boring, is very authentic, it felt like watching the goings-on at an actual barbershop in the hood.
Friday is probably the funniest movie ever. An old favourite. Only this time did I realise it's perhaps the most quotable movie ever, everything in that movie is hilarity, especially all of Chris Tucker's dialogue.
I usually find Ice Cube to be one of the most annoying actors around. He puts in good performances in both movies, though he doesn't seem to be acting, these performances seem to be part of his actual character.
