left hander LBWs

one problem I have consistently is when Im a left hand bat against a right hand bowler, or right hand bat against left hand bowlers, I keep getting out LBW.

It seems like when the ball pitches leg stump angled to hit middle/middle and off, if I play a forward defence I get hit on the pads - in real cricket you have to effectively play slightly around your pad because of the angle, but it doesn't seem to let you do that on Cricket 2004.

One way I've tried to combat this is taking a "leg stump guard", ie when the bowler starts his run up, moving slightly so the batter is tapping his bat down level with leg stump. This opens me up a bit but then off stump yorkers become a problem because I always miss them and get bowled if they're on the stumps.

NB I am using Sams exe so I only see the bowling cursor as he starts to bowl - can't move my feet around earlier to change position.

Any tips or suggestions?

Also a lot of the LBWs I get as a right hand batsman to right hand bowler seem bad decisions, when they show it on the replay it hits me in line with the stumps but the ball is drifting down the legside, but the computer gives you out!!

I dont think you have downloaded the Sam's cursor file which restores the bowling cursor as in the original game. (you will have to launch the file in the bground and then start c2k4).

yeah I have but then I got rid of it because I prefer having less time, its a bit more like real cricket. When you have the cursor as in the original game you find yourself moving a foot outside off stump to play a straight drive to a wide half volley etc.

yeah to be honest Ive gone back to the cursor now so I can see the ball before it pitches.
Regardless of how good your timing is there's some balls you just can't play a shot to because your feet aren't in the right position.

If u dont want to get lbw out always expose your stumps and play or be perfect with timing.Your position plays improtant role in each and every shot, u can learn it by Practice Nets.

For yorkers try advance shot.
