I found a free CD linux distro about which I contacted some Linux experts.
They all said that Kybuntu/ubuntu are very good packages and u can install and be happy.
the difference is that Kubuntu comes with a KDE windows manager, and unbuntu comes with GNOME windows manager.
Windows manager is like explorer for Windows XP.

http://shipit.kubuntu.com (recommended)
Also, they said that if u never had previous experience with programming and command based interface, then get Mandriva Linux 2006.
the other distros require u to have some knowledge before u can sink deep in them.
u can get Mandriva Linux 2006 DVD at Rs 99/- from
www.buylinuxdvd.com.
I also give you links of others who sell Linux for outside India Checkout the following link:
http://www.debian.org/CD/vendors/
And mind u, these aren't only Linux packages. These companies are run by help groups who want Linux in all PCs.
those Ubuntu CDs, when fully installed have >25 GB of software!
enjoy Linux.
