Hey guys, last saturday, my college PET talked with EAMCET college PET for having a cricket match on sunday.(t20)(AIEEE Coaching XI VS EAMCET Coaching XI). As I've played district level, our college PET asked me to be the skipper. I've selected 13 man squad which consisted of three district level players excluding me.
They won the toss and decided to bat on..
They scored 184 as our bowling was damn weak. They even hit 5 sixes in an over and the last bowl was punished for a four in 19th over. But I've got a maiden in 20th over which balanced the score.
My bowling figures were "4-1-14-2". But one of our spinner went for 57 runs who was very costly for us.
In general, I was to open but I asked others to go as I had a small injury at my left thumb. They managed a total of 59 when one of them got out at 26 on 8th over. We were totally under pressure to chase nearly 11 per over..
Then to keep the situation alive, I send one of the greatest batsman and asked him to just watch the ball and not the scorecard and the required run rate. He said that He'll try and he took the strike. By the time he got out, we needed 70 runs of 36 balls when I went on..
I decided myself not to go for big shots and get into trouble. I asked my partner not to watch the scorecard but I suggested him to concentrate on the ball..
He said that he'll try it. And I took on the first ball. I just concentrated on the ball. It was a pure bouncer and I just moved out. The umpire signaled that one as first bouncer and I was shocked as I faced it above my waist and I looked the leg umpire. He said that he was helpless as he found that one as legal bowl..
I just tried to forget it. I was to face the next delivery. It even was same delivery but I just kept the bat and I bent down.... lolz... it was a four...:P
Next delivery I faced, I turned that to a single and asked him to rotate on the strike..
that over was done and I was to face the next over.. the bowler was named the best bowler of the previous season of our college..
the first bowl I faced went to a six. It was a straight delivery to my legs which I just hit it hard straight up in the air for a six..
The next ball I faced was even a six which Misbah Ul Haq did hit just before he got out in ICC world T20 2007 final.
The next delivery was a single. And the rest were dot balls.
So now we needed 52 from 24. I was to face Leg spinner. I like leg spin which the opponent cap din't knew. I hit three sixes in a row. then two fours and a single to end the over.
Now we needed 25 from 18...
The match was in our hand..
and there came a huge blow.. I was injured as the very next ball which I faced at 60 miles an hour..
I tried attempting reverse sweep. It directly hit on my collar bone but I said that I'll play. But as my friends suggested, I came back to rest room but I was still padded up. They maintained batting by hitting 12 runs in two overs. We needed 13 from last over for which I went. I was Little bit injured but I went on rejecting the words of our PET. I was given a runner. The first ball I faced was a four. we needed 8 from five where I hit Tendulkars Upper cut which went for a six.
I just gave on a run.
The next three deliveries were very crucial. We needed 1 run from three balls where the bowler took two wickets and he was on a hat trick in the last ball. 1 run, one ball. I just asked my runner to move away as it would be a great confusion to me. The last ball was hit directly to the bowler for which he dropped he catch.
Yeppieeeee We won....!!!!!!!!
but when I asked the bowler, he said that he tried to take the catch in stylish way for which he did make the simplest catch ever in cricket the toughest catch ever in cricket...:P
At the end, I was named the MOTM as my bowling was good and even batting.
Again this sunday, there would be another match but this time at Lal Bahadur stadium...
