Most thrilling final day of a Test

How about Wi vs Pak in 00/01. The final test of the series. The series was at stake and Windies went into the final day, needing 72 runs with 6 wickets in hand. Wickets however fell at regualr intervals with the score crawling towards the target. Jimmy Adams however stood firm and was standing when 19 runs were needed with one wicket in hand, the 11th man being none other than Courtney Walsh. They were given a reprieve when one of them was first dropped, then a run out was missed with both the batsmen almost at the same end. Jimmy Adams was caught behind but was not given. Add to that the fact that 2 of the WI players were out on noballs which the umpire failed to see;and it makes for one helluva day to watch!

I remember watching that live. It was the poorest day for spirit of the game. It was billy doctrove who let patriotism get the better of him when he did not give jimmy adams out caught behind. Jimmy did not have decency to walk but he danced like an ape after the umpire assisted win. I have hated doctrove ever since and his escapades at lords have made the hatred stronger.

India v Australia, Eden Gardens 2001,Chennai 2001, SCG 2004 (Steve Waugh`s farewell),2008. Egbaston 2005, Cardiff 2005.

Lot more games which I`m bored to type out actually.

I don't believe Billy gave it not out on purpose mate. I was heart broken as well but don't think he gave it not out on account of patriotism. And Jimmy didn't have an obligation to walk. Whether a batsman should or should not is another matter but you can't assert that h has an obligation to walk.

That was loud nick mate. I can still hear it echoing in my ears. There was deflection too. I know jimmy Adams did not have to walk but he could have been circumspect with celebrations considering he knew he cheated to win.

i would have to say the australia/south africa test at the WACA and the SCG in 2008. both test's final days were awesome to watch.

The first one? Dead pitch, one wicket falls, still a session and a half left?

Aus v NZ 1987/88 MCG. Amazing last day.
Yeah the one where Mike Whitney and Craig McDermott held on. Sir Richard Hadlee bowled the last over.

Adelaide 2006/07, Poms going down, mental day of test cricket.

Yeah that was fantastic because it looked for all money that England would bat out for a draw. The turning point was Warnie getting Pietersen bowled around his legs

I'll also throw another one in even though it wasn't a full day and sadly Australia lost. Australia v South Africa at the SCG in 1993/1994

South Africa vs England this year anyone ? I can't remember which match in the series it was, but I'm talking about the one when England needed to hang on with 5 wickets to spare in the last 15 overs and they ended up losing 3 of those.

Then there's Australia vs South Africa, when Smith walked out to bat with a broken hand.

And India vs Pakistan, Sachin's infamous 136. Heartbreaking.
