The Australian media do no such thing, they haven't condemned the whole nation at all. Most of the articles I've read in Australia have either condemned Harbhajan for being racist or have defended him for lack of evidence. I have not read anything that condemns the entire nation and if you have you're probably reading a dodgy source like the Geelong Advertiser or the Courier Mail.

As for this attack, I don't have time to read all 6 pages, but it was dark and the car was going quickly, so it wasn't necessarily aimed at Murali, and it didn't hit him either.

I have been egged before, but there wasn't news about it and people didn't condemn the people who egged me. It's just something that morons do sometimes.

Meanwhile, this is also cricket news so it's being moved.

Find me where the media has done that? I have never seen any views from the so called ignorant and biased Australian media that condemn India as a bunch of racist effigy burners. Have you actually seen this or are you just saying it because everyone else is?

Sri Lankan camps have denied that Murali was targeted and they've also denied that he was struck:

Sri Lankan team manager Shriyan Samararatne confirmed the incident happened on Thursday night and said the egg hit one of the Sri Lankan selectors. He denied reports the egg had struck the controversial off-spinner in the face.

"A group of four was walking from a restaurant to the team hotel and an egg was thrown at them from a car but I am not sure if they recognised Murali," Samararatne said. "I don't know the exact motive. I doubt whether they recognised Murali but unfortunately he was there. We told Cricket Australia about it and they were very upset."

Mate did you read Fridays Daily Telegraph, they were full on bagging the Indian team and Sreesanth and Harbhajan, and showing Harbhajans previous offences, the media should look at all the crap that the Australian team has done over the years, they dont seeem to make any list of that, Anyway on to Murali i just hope everyone leaves him alone, he is a Legend of the game and i feel embarrassed to how hes been treated here in Australia as he probably has a view of Australia that it is a bad country when its not, its a beautiful country , just a bunch of idiots have to ruin it. I hope these idiots gets caught and smashed like that stupid Corey party guy did. Lol who knows maybe it was him haha

Amen to that. I do not expect any more neutrality from the Australian media than I what I am used to from the Indian media. They can write whatever they think makes "good copy"; they are trying to make a living out there,
but we don't have to read it if we don't want to.

Look, Murali is touring Australia, not the Vatican. There are ignorant, small-minded and racist people everywhere, and it would be silly to make generalisations when the sensible thing is to say, if not from a mountaintop then at least to ourselves, that we are, as fans of cricket and citizens of the free world, united in condemning these acts. Not one post on this thread has said anything remotely along the lines of defending the perpetrators (I am in agreement with the few who tried to play down the media hype), so I don't see what the argument is all about. This sort of thing should bring us together rather than wedge us apart, and some of the comments here really aren't helping.

You read the Daily Telegraph? That explains it. As for listing previous offences, so? Bagging Harbhajan and Sreesanth? The latter is arrogant and goes on and on about how much he hates Australia, and the former has been in trouble more than once.

lol hey man im just posting what i see in newspaper , I dont realli read newspapers , lol the other newspapers are too big and seem to be targeted more for the homeless for their shelter, Daily Telegeraph is a good size, tho thats what im trying to say, that parts of the Australian media are really stupid and have blown this whole summer of cricket's controversies out of proportion

Those parts are aimed at the working class members of the public, the ones who have no time to read a proper article and who wouldn't understand them anyway. If you want to read a better paper, get the Sydney Morning Herald or The Australian. The Australian is very balanced, and the Herald has much better writers.
