I like the idea behind the P20 more than the Twenty20 Cup, and would really go to town with it. This is my idea for the P20:
- Two divisions of 10 teams each.
- Ireland and Scotland join the 18 first class counties for the tournament.
- Matches take place on Friday and Saturday nights.
- Teams play the others in their division twice per season - home and away - resulting in 18 regular season matches for each side.
- Two points are awarded for a win, one for a no result and no points for a loss.
- In the event of a tie a one over eliminator will decide the outcome.
- The two teams with the most points in division 1 will qualify for the Twenty20 Champions League.
- The bottom team in division 1 at the end of the season will be relegated to division 2 and replaced by division 2's first placed team.
- The team with the second lowest number of points in division 1 will play the team with the second highest number of points in division 2 in a play-off with the winners playing in division 1 the following season.
- This play-off will take place on the home ground of division 1's first placed team.
