Expected this kind of result in this game no surprises there at all. What do you reckon the patch Shailesh? Sixes are hard to hit right, I couldn't hit one through out the inning. 74/1 off the first 10 overs, jeez we need to do some more tweaking then :( and we are almost half way through the series ;)

Trescothick and Flintoff guide England to another victory

Trescothick hit his 2nd 100 in as many matches and together with Flintoff guided England to their second victory of the NatWest series. England were in a spot of bother after Australians picked 3 quick wickets. But Tresco always looked in control, well supported by Flintoff who played a fine innings and in the end England got home in the 42nd over with 6 wickets in hand.
The difference of wickets and runrate may look like an easy ride, but it wasn't so as things were pretty tense out there between 30-40 overs. Both the batsmen had to play with lot of patience, without any risks and with the wicket taking plenty of turn it took all my skill to complete this victory.
Trescothick looked in good form right from start and played some superb shots early on, followed by good running between the wickets during later part. Flintoff had to curb his normal attacking game (towards the end had to play some dot balls to allow Tresco reach his 100 :p) and played a very mature knock.
So England go ahead 2-0 in the series, plenty of thinking to do for the Australians, the form of their fast bowlers surely a worry for Ponting. So a crucial game of the series coming up, Can the Australians make a comeback or will England complete a series win? Makre sure to join us for the 3rd odi of the NatWest series.

(highlights of England innings to be released later today)

yeah sixes are hard to hit..I only tried 1-2 times (pressure :p )..almost all the runs came from ground shots. In anything you can reduce the power of ground shots a bit so that there are less 4s, but if you look at the stats for Tresco, Fred, boundries did not make a high % of runs..so up to you mate..
may be I was at top of my game :D :p

Made few changes to make the faster bowlers effective, not everyday McGrath is going to go for 28 off only 4 ;)

Nah seriously the patch is pretty decent and I tightned square cuts as it was fetching far too many runs early on. Opened the Back foot straight drive but made it hard to time it so a well timed shot will fetch decent runs. The back leg shot was a touch too easy to play, we were even able to take the ball from a foot away from the off side and play it on the leg side so made that shot easier a bit hard to time as well. Changed the direction of back foot cover drive and the forward cover drive as the runs between cover point and widish mid off were not so many. Now the cover drives both of back foot/front foot and Back foot straight drive although will be good scoring shots will be laden with danger of edging while mistiming. I guess it is good for the game.

Indeed you deserver to win as you have played well. I played absolute crap cricket anyway in the last couple of games. Firstly I should last a full 50 over to be able to even win any game.

Anyways let me know what are the pitch and weather conditions for the next game. Eagerly looking forward to playing the next ODI.

Manchester promises a green top after recent rains

The 3rd odi at Manchester could finally bring some good news for the Aussie seamers. Due to heavy rains in last few days, the pitch is looking green and promises plenty of support for the seamers. The groundsman was confident that the ground will be in good shape by the time two teams arrive for this all important odi.

Jeez, this is in fact making the decision making really hard. England pressing the home advantage with green pitches, where is Bracewell when we need him to speak up against pitch doctoring by England ;) :D

You have to try the new patch to know how effective it is S. I am more than sure this match will witness test of nerves and patience. Runs do not come at 5-6 on green pitches anymore, I can assure you that. Good test of patience and skill this game will be definitely.

Australia has a huge decision to make in this game and will not mind the green pitch as long as spinners won't get much turn on it ;) Australia choose to bowl and goes in with a team of 4 seamers for this crucial game.

The team for the 3rd ODI is as follows :

Gilchrist
Hayden
Ponting
Martyn
Katich
Clarke
Symonds
B.Lee
Gillespie
Kasprowicz
McGrath

Go the OZs, let's do it now.

The patch, the field changes and the team file is attached Shailesh. Good luck for having owned up to have a first use of the track :)

Anyone installing this please make sure you install the fields using Graphics Editor 3 as well otherwise the patch won't do the job it's supposed to.

LOL! Going to be some challenge facing that attack on a green pitch! England to go with unchanged side. There weren't too many smiles and autographs going around from the Aussies when they arrived as one can feel the intensity already. This one building up into a fascinating contest..

S, if you haven't started yet then do no start the game. I realised there are few more things to do with the patch, just fine tuning the edges and stuff. Please wait couple of hours from now while I finish tweaking.
