cricket 2005 video sucks!!!!!!!!
they cud have shown shots instead the batsman r defending all da time
the stance of the batsman is far better in blc
the height of all players look the same in c2k5 this is very strange
and the poor old commentary makes it worst
did any1 notice the fielder which was running behind the ball was running as if sum dog was chasin him
ill buy blc for sure

This sucks.....cric2005 is just a makeover, same bugs. One bug was the batsman calling for a run when the ball had gone for a leg bye for ages, and then at the last moment called for the single. Same stupid stuff, no compare to Blic

first of all someone reduce the muscles a bit this isn't rugby.

you can get a sense of bad gameplay off very first ball!! watch how unrealistc the ball movement is after it hits the pads! keeper reacts badly, benaud says some out of sorts commentary, watch where the batsmen end up and finally we see the giant umpire

in the overlay the bowler/allrounder etc looks bad as it's listed before player name.

same old aweful commentary :

the pitch square doesn't look real..almost too perfect.

watch ball race off after it hits the pads!! as if it was hit off middle of the bat.

umpire gives a perfectly ok looking delivery as wide! :

fielder runs into the batsman after fielding the ball.

can someone explain why the batsman on strike has this blue circle appearing.. like you can also select the non striker if you want?? side effects of adopting rugby or whatever engine?

watch when a 4 is given off legbyes..bad keeper movement, shot selection, fielder ai.

for people who think blic batsman plays at the last movement, atleast the shot, ball dynamics look real..what the hell is going on here?

bowler motion caps look too slow..also the angle of arm doesn't look real.

not sure what is changed other than fat players/umpires and new skins for all the meters

verdict : horrible.

Have to agree with you. The graphics just look too good to pass up. And i dont like the bowlers movement in BLIC, it just seems so fast...

There are a few positives to be gained from watching this video. And I do think that it is two humans or CPU vs. Human. Human is definitely batting, because the CPU would never move around before the ball has been bowled. So now, the positives, if they do indeed exist:

1. There are different umpires at either end!
2. The umpires have fingers!
3. The square-leg umpire is reactive. When the ball was moving towards him, he flinched a bit before the fielder cut off the ball.
4. The bowling marker comes on later, making it slightly more challenging to play.
5. Players are categorized as Batsman/Bowler/Bowling All Rounder and Batting All Rounder. From what I can deduce. On the starting screen there were things like "BAT", "BWL", "OBW" and "OBT".

I do not understand the point of the circle around the batsman. Is it his range of strokes or something?

Good stuff S, nicely summed up. I thought my opinion was going to be harsh on Cricket 2005 but now I guess it not just me. I did fail to notice the wide for a legit delivery, the ball of course carried to the boundary after hitting the pads and you are right the fielders are running into batsman.

The video I watched last night was showing a circle for the bowler, wonder that is meaning the human player? The game is too slow for my liking and to play on pc definitely we have to depend on !xspeed.

I will take a print out of all the bugs in the cricket 2004 game and compare those with Cricket 2005 when I get my hands on it. That will definitely say something about this newer version.

i know it's your choice...but why buy a game for graphics, if it has crap gameplay you will play the game for a week then won't touch it again...

I think the circle around the batsman is some sort of marker which will make it harder to predict where the ball will end up. Once the circle disappears you move it to where you want it (the batsman won't be able to see where you are moving it to)

Unless you are rich ofcourse or have lots of money to spend.
