New Zealand will warm up for the Champions Trophy in September with a three-ODI series in Pakistan, subject to safety approval. New Zealand had been asked to extend their trip to five matches, after West Indies turned down Pakistan's offer to visit for three one-dayers as well, but decided on three.

A New Zealand spokesperson told Cricinfo: "NZC has agreed to play three matches in Pakistan. With the Champions Trophy taking place we felt that was the right number in terms of our preparation."

It will be their first visit in five years and is likely to take place in August, but details will only be finalised once security approval has been given. "The security aspects will be worked through closer to the time," NZC confirmed.

It was only a few years ago that a bomb exploded in front of the teams hotel in Karachi.

I still remember few years ago serial bomb blasting in England.
So Now nobody should tour them?

Common man,I repeat If any terrorist group wants to kill anyone they will not invite you anywhere then will come to our place and Kill us.

Anyway I don't see any connection here.
Good that someone is ready to set the example that Cricket has nothing to do with country Politics.

Hence why they are still having the tour, however they aren't wanting to go to Karachi. I wasn't implying that they shouldn't tour Pakistan at all.

The board are not keen to return to Karachi, where a bomb exploded on New Zealand's last tour of the country, in 2002. Instead it is understood they favour Rawalpindi and Lahore.

common, who would attack the Kiwis, they even hardly know them :p.

it was said before
why would terrorists target cricket players
terrorists in those areas kill for a reason. sometimes trying to kill one person they kill a large number of people.

I guess people are stressing too much on security concerns with Pakistan...
Its good to see a good team touring Pakistan...
Looking forward to this series...

Ya they are setting the good example as this will be quite series and nobody going to feel they are playing in Pakistan.

The only reason the Aussies did not want to tour Pakistan was because of money, there was more money to be made in the IPL, that the only reason, nothing else, and once again it showed that the ICC has no balls when it comes to the BCCI and cricket.

Lets seeeee. Put your life in danger or earn half a million bucks...i know which i would choose!

So Stevo you admit that it was all for the money then? Life in danger? Like it is an safer tp play in India, or Sri Lanka or else where? The elections were over, the government of the day was removed, which is what the people wanted, so what is your point then?? There are always battles going on between the Tamil Tigers and India, there were threats made in England, South Africa, so should all these nations be distanced when it comes to a tour???
The fact is, as you mentioned they (Aussies) choosed the big bucks over the tour, and like you said if I was in their place I would do the same, but does that make it right?
