Hmm, I think I'm going to support Canterbury because their super 14 team plays preseason games in melbourne.

Who is doing well at the moment? Fill us in.

Ryder has been bowling quite a lot. He has 2 wickets from today's play. Not many runs yet, but he has a chance to fix that now.

Central Districts were bowled out for 61 by Auckland. They're obviously missing Sinclair who is on his way over to join the Black Caps. Andre Adams 5-12. ighest score was 14 followed by 11 Extras. Wicket isn't shocking either, because Auckland are 162/2.

In other games, James Marshall and Greg Todd got centuries.

CD do have a heavy reliance on Sinclair, besides Peter Ingram, he is the only real class bat the team has.

The first few games have had a few good performers. Corey Anderson, Brandon Hiini, Rob Nicols and Aaron Redmond have all been playing great at the moment.

so who are under dogs? I'll support them cause i love those sort of sides. Who's this Todd fellow ive been hearing a lot off? What type of batsman is he? Opener? Left hand? etc. etc.

Greg Todd is playing at 3. Left hand batsman. Don't know a lot about him other then that.

I'd say the under dogs are probably Canterbury. We lost Cairns, Harris, McMillan, Wiseman, B McCullum and Astle all in the last 2 years. Shane Bond and Peter Fulton will rarely get to play as they'll be playing internationals. A very young ad inexperienced team. I think we have two South African players playing.

Auckland are looking strong so far. CD without Sinclair, How and Mason don't look nearly as good. Wellington have a strong and experienced squad. ND have a good allround side, a good bowling attack with a good spinner (2 when Vettori isn't on internationl duty) plus some good batsmen. They have a few allrounders in Yovich and Orchard

Good to see Fulton back on the field. Good performance too. Should be ready for the Aussie ODIs

Andrew Strauss has signed for Northern Districts for the One Day competition. Very interesting. Will be nice to have a high profile international player over here.

Well Auckland are going good. Bad to see then lose against Otago though. Looking back on the scores Otago dont seem too bad though with Brendon McCullun and Craig Cumming.

Can you post some averages/statistics please? Thanks :)

That will be good for Northern Districts and New Zealand domestic cricket in general to have a high quality player like Andrew Strauss. New Zealand domestic cricket doesn't get much attention in Australia and maybe this can boost it.

Matthew Bell just bought up a double century. Good job to him. He's also registered another bigt hundred and a few half centuries already I believe. If I was picking a squad for Bangladesh he'd be in it as well as Andre Adams.

Bell has played before, not for very long, but he didn't do so well. However, he's been out about 7odd years so a lot will have changed.

My openers for the Bangladesh series:

Papps, How and Bell. I don't think Cumming deserves a spot unless he scores some runs. Plus Papps has a hell of a lot more talent. Papps has mainly been used overseas and since he has an amazing domestic record in this country i'd use him, he's hardly had a chance at home and deserves it. Bell has had a lot of playing lately and is in great form. Deserves a call up. How has done all the right things in the 50 over game, however i'd have him as backup. Give the other two guys who have been playing the longer form in domestic cricket a crack at it.

Bell is averaging 85 from 6 innings with 1 hundred, 2 fiftys and a double century currently unbeaten not yet added to the record. 188* was the hundred he got.

Andre Adams deserves a spot DEFINATLY. If he doesn't get a spot i'll scream. His record so far is amazing. He averages 8.27 with 29 wickets with 3 five bags and a 10 in about 4 matches. He's 100 times the player O'Brien is.

I'd drop Styris. Lets face it, he deserves it. It's about time we start dropping senior players when they arn't performing and bring in the new guys. Taylor is lucky hekeeps his spot, since it was his first tour.

My eleven for the first Bangladesh test

Papps
Bell
Sinclair
Fleming
Taylor
Oram
McCullum
Adams
Vettori
Gillespie
Martin
12th: Patel
