You didn't have to make a new thread about this , but yes Transmission deserves all the accolades they can get. they have done a fine job ( its called listening to your core audience )

So, all of a sudden they are forgiven for releasing a game filled with bugs that should have been detected in beta testing because they wanted to rush to get in during the Ashes because they have patched?

The last several EA games have been full of the same bugs as previous versions and gone unpatched. Stop being so ungrateful that they've actually done something about it.

And why don't you name me one game that was released bug-free or not released to coincide with some favorable time (holiday season, coinciding with movie release etc) by the publisher. How surprising that there was pressure on them to release a game called "Ashes Cricket" during the Ashes. Seriously, stop being so ungrateful and appreciate the effort they've put to address the issues.

Well considering this is the first release it's a lot less buggy than it might have been. Remember, the engine was almost totally re-written instead of working from the 2007 code. The patch has almost completely eliminated the real bugs from the game, so now TG can get to work on adding more complexity and depth to the game.

I think we can all agree that the game modes are too few, and the gameplay is still a touch 'shallow', for want of a better word. TG have said on numerous occasions that they believe they have a good base to build from for any future games they might make. Considering they've probably made the best cricket game ever made at their first attempt, I would be inclined to believe them.

ricky ponting 05 was also released for the ashes in 05, but it was mostly bug free....... so no excuses!!

however, thanks for taking the extra time after the release and making an effort to incorporate the wishes of PC users in the patch! :)

Do you know how many games are released with bugs that are never patched! At least these guys have actually done something about it; this is the best (official) patch I've ever come across.

MasterBlaster76 added 1 Minutes and 31 Seconds later...

I don't even need to read that - I remember the bug where the ball went through the pads and how many dismissals where down to the AI leg glancing the ball (through his pads) and onto the stumps. And that bug wasn't even fixed in BLIC 2007!

Not to mention the patch where all it did was add a registry entry entitled 'for the crappy patch' or something like that. :noway

What is wrong with you suck ups here, I know i aint in the little forum "click" but come on we all bought a game that is that **** 2 months later needs complete fixing and you lot are dedicating threads to people who basically tryed conning us hoping they wouldnt get found out "as if" Run rates in tests at 10 plus just for starters..

So if you wana **** anymore games up in the future it dont matter you might even get a blue peter badge for your troubles

Wish i had a job like them....

:sarcasm

What is your problem? They cocked up the original release and now they are putting it right, free of charge. They could easily have just left the game as it was like EA have done each time in the past, but they didn't. I was sceptical about the patch because the original game was so broken I just didn't see how it could be improved as much as it has been.

It's quite simple, you criticise (constructively) something that is crap and you praise something that is good.

Some people will not be happy until Jamie and Heath come to their house on their knees begging for forgiveness.

i havent downloaded the patch yet, but want to know if the problem with the game lagging has been addressed or will it be in the final release

If your connection is poor then there is nothing they can do about it. I see you live in South Africa, so whatever little changes they do make will probably not help your cause much. Have not been able to play anyone from South Africa without massive lag. :(
