Old PC Members Reminiscing Thread

Iam not from the Golden Age I think. I joined during the Ashes series, what a time that was to join:) It was good because I could chat Cricket and Cricket games on the same forum - perfect! That England in Australia thread was great and we had a lot of C07 chat and new downloads coming out daily. Then the lead up and release of BLIC07 was great, lots of posts. But since then its been dying. Battrick, Cricket Chat and Comp. tech parts are the only bits I really like nowadays. TOAC will make the forum explode! You watch!

When I first joined there were constant quality posts from Burma's Finest, Kev, barmyarmy and most of the old "Regulars". It was a "Golden Age" for me anyways.

Thats the same with me Hooper. I joined before the ashes but only started posting when the first test started.

PC seems to be reflecting Cricket in real life. All the good oldies have retired, the Golden Ages of cricket are gone, and there don't seem to be many future superstars in the making for the next few generations. We need some of the Oldies back...

I joined years ago, but only started using it recently. Hasbeen some good times on here for me.

Ah I think I may be the oldest member (in terms of membership date) to post on this thread thus far. I remember joining for something related to Cricket 2004. I believe I was redirected somehow from Cricket2002.tk, which was my location to get C2k2 patches. Anyhow.

I came, as everyone comes to this forum, as an immature member. Viewing some of my earlier posts would demonstrate that. :D Anyhoo...

Old-time members? A couple stand out. Puddleduck hasn't been around for a while. Shahid6995 was one of the few Pakistani fans on the forum who could debate a topic intelligently, yet aggressively. Ste used to post. There were a couple of Indian members like bharat and indiancricketer who haven't been back for ages.

Everyone will eventually move away from this forum as real life and real people become more important, to be replaced by the "next generation" so to speak.

To be honest, the forums have changed, not necessarily for the worst, but nore for the best.

When i joined, the Superthread was the one place which was most active, that was the biggest downfall for me, as it was such a great place to be. JJ3 boasting on how wonderful he was, Kev and Stevie trying to take it away from him, but the "new generation," or atleast some of the newer members spoilt it, posting stuff which made life difficult for the mods.

When i joined, it was after the Ashes, well a long while after but the buzz was still going, the forums will never be back to that, and i feel, most of the "older guys," who have left will be followed by the "newer older guys," shortly it feels. I've lost quite a bit of activeness, or atleast posting, and i know the likes of Evo have aswell, hes active as hell somedays not around the next, in PC's prime you got home from college (or school as it was back then) and it'd be for sure some guys would already be in the superthread/ea downloads/duff around the place making a prat of himself....

oh the good old days.

i'm sure they will be some new, "Oldie Goldies" though.
We still have Zorax! :)
Hallejjuah! :)

Ah Shahid6995. He was brilliant. There aren't enough Afridi fans anymore. And TBH, I can't blame the excuse why he left. Same reason I don't post in Cricket Chat much anymore...

Yes, I don't post as much as I used to because every boy reaches a stage in their life where college work, beer and skirt chasing becomes more important than cricket and the internet.

I've never posted in Superthread. :)

And evo, it's just about making sure you can combine the 5. ;)

What's that reason?

Well looks like you lot will have me for a few years at least then. :p

I've never posted in Superthread. :)

I barely did to.

Indeed, all part of a guys growing up :p I myself have past that stage, and the skirt chasing, well i was past that a few years ago to, much easier just to sit there, less tiring ;)

The loss of (in-activeness of) of some great members has cost PC a lot. Eg. Look at the C07 Forum, there are more amateurs having amateur discussions rather than pros having hardcore discussions.

Yup, at the time of me joining C05 was still a big hit, you made some stuff, there were pro face makers, and Burma did a lot for the community to.
