Some of the Pakistan's Cricinfo stats after remarkable test win by Pakistan yesterday. Cateogorically an eye-opener and reply to the lied and over-hyped media stuff and over-hyped perceptions about teams and players.

"125 Test wins for Pakistan, which pushes them one ahead of India, who have 124. While India's 124 wins have come in 491 Tests, Pakistan have played only 394 to win 125. They are now fifth in terms of overall Test wins, after Australia, England, West Indies and South Africa."

178 The margin of victory, Pakistan's biggest victory in terms of runs in a Test against England.

8 Wickets for Yasir Shah in this Test, the seventh time in 11 Tests he has taken seven or more wickets in the match. In his last five Tests he has taken 39 wickets at 19.87. In 2015 he has 42wickets, next only to Stuart Broad's 46; while Broad has played 12 Tests this year, Yasir has played half that number.

10-3 Pakistan's win-loss record in the UAE in 20 Tests since the beginning of 2010. In all other countries during the same period their record is 11-15 in 30 Tests.

7-2 Pakistan's win-loss record in Tests since October 2014. During this period they've registered series wins against Australia, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, and drawn a series against New Zealand.

63 Years, to the day, since Pakistan won their first Test match. On October 26, 1952, they beat India by an innings and 43 runs in Lucknow to register their first win in Test history.

Pakistan combination revives rich memories | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo

A steaming 90 minutes in the hands of Wahab Riaz and Yasir Shah was reminiscent of the rich history of Pakistan cricket with a fast bowler and legspinner working in unison to wreak havoc. It was an evocative sight in Dubai as Pakistan rattled England's batsmen, inspiring in them awe and fear.

The thrill of the Wahab-Yasir combination was a peep into history, recalling Imran Khan-Abdul Qadir, Wasim Akram-Mushtaq Ahmed, Shoaib Akhtar-Danish Kaneria. It brought back memories alive as both fought, and narrowly failed, to take five wickets.

Two lovely articles referencing PAKs unique history of producing a top-class fast bowler/leg-spin combo.

If it is Aamir will indeed comeback, plus maybe Irfan used in test a again a Aamir/Wahad/Irfan Shah combo might be even more majestic & the most lethal looking bowling attack going around.

PCB urges Misbah to delay retirement | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo

Well well, Read the story and that is what I feel:

If Misbah stays as fit as he is at the moment Masha'ALLAH He should certainly give it a shot for England and Australia Tour.

If PCB management really trusts on its own words (which is rare), They should make sure that they won't force Misbah to retire if Pakistan gets a 3-0 or 2-1 defeat in England tour before going to Australia.

If Misbah feels He is loosing interest in the game by early next year, He should make sure to have a smooth captaincy transition to avoid any war between the young lot to grab the crown.

If no one feels anything than so be it... Run the cricket affairs as you guyz have been doing for ages...... lol

Misbah has played a lot of his reasonable knocks in UAE, so unless he plays and performs in those important away tours against England, Australia & New Zealand, he isn't a Pakistan Test cricket great.

True that, This would be a chance for him to prove that he really among great test cricket captains if not a great player. But I personally believe that the game is bigger than proving to the World. If he feels he would still contribute to the team at a good level by end of next year He should give it a shot

If he just left now, knowing we have important away tours next year, he would truly be a coward in my eyes despite a sensational career. I know that Younis Khan won't be retiring any time soon so it's just Misbah, who I think should not retire yet.

WHAT? He's 41, he deserves to retire whenever he wants. Our test team wouldn't be where it is now if it wasn't for him.

So you want him to coward out when we need him the most?
No, I don't want him to "coward out", as you say, but if he decides to retire after this series, I will fully understand and respect his decision.

He is quite fit, probably one of the fittest in the team, if he does retire, then he will truly coward out of the big uns.

Let me guess: you were among those criticising him even when he was our best batsman in ODIs.

Saying Misbah coward is bit unfair my friend, We all know he has quite limitations as a batsman on seaming tracks, despite that I guess he can count on his willpower and determination to go good abroad as well. Even if he retires or perform poorly we cant just write off his contributions
