Looks like there isn't much interest in the series over here which is understandable. A lot has happened for Zimbabwe even before the first match has started, with Zimbabwe players forming a union & Jarvis leaving to play county cricket for Lancashire. Very happy about the amount of cricket Zimbabwe has got in recent times, considering how little we played last year. Don't have high hopes again, but it's important that they try and compete, they are playing more cricket so they have no excuse for not showing some improvement.

I am supporting Zimbabwe in this series and i hope they win tonight :cheers Taylor to score a century :p

I'd be happy if he reached double figures. Has too much to do in matches. Keeping, scoring the bulk of the runs and being captain must be tough. They need to bring in a keeper, doesn't matter who it is, just takes some of the load off Taylor. :)

ATM Kevin Kasuza is the best option available

I agree with you. He did look to be under extra pressure against India from game #1. I have no idea who is the better wicketkeeper batsman out there in the African nation but I have some good about Kevin Kasuza as a batsman and IIRC, he keeps a bit as well so that might do the trick. That said, Zimbabwe would be currently looking for a player who can fill in Jarvis' boots. Mpofu or Meth should fit in the job I think. I guess they would not want to throw Querl in the mix right away after getting a clearance on his action. They might want to have a close look at him in a few domestic matches before giving him the national cap.

Not sure how good Kasuza's keeping is, I think he's just kept in a few u19's matches. He's worth giving a go though, Mutizwa did pretty well.

Mpofu & Meth are injured at the moment, hopefully they'll be fit for the tests. Vitori, Chatara & Shingi Masakadza have done pretty well, so they will hopefully fill the gap. Will also give Panyangara, Rainsford & Mupariwa a chance to get a few games. It's hard to know if Querl is commited to Zimbabwe cricket, has connections with Hampshire & the Unicorns, so he might just stay with them. :(

IMO Rainsford and Mupariwa deserve more chances than anyone else in the team , especially Rainsford. No doubt that Shingi Masakadza did well but the bowlers need to be aggressive , they'll have to take wickets (search for 'em) not just be a economical bowler but be a wicket taker as-well and yeah Taylor needs to leave something , he should leave keeping as mentioned above , he could be a very good batsman that way (AB de Villiers' V2) :p. On the other hand , they need some aggressive batsmen in the middle order , Taylor is an aggressive player but he needs someone to co-operate with him , there seems to be very poor co-operation between them , especially the batsmen , they just can't keep the composure sometime and get out or trying to be a hero , they need to follow a good game-plan and for that they'll need to know how the opposition plays and for that , they need to get more matches and they're getting it currently so advantages are there and so are the chances just take them. Someone needs to be responsible with Taylor.

On the other side , Pakistan needs to rest some players like Jamshed , I don't understand why he's still playing every game ?! he has fitness problems , he isn't performing them but we just can't stop giving the old and the aged chances again and again :facepalm. The board needs no be responsible and do some decisions ,decisions for the future of our team, Junaid deserved to play the 1st match in place of Tanvir , Irfan needs some rest as-well, Babar deserves some chances too and Ajmal do need some rest , Umar Akmal should be playing instead of giving Sarfraz more chances than he deserves.

Although Zimbabwe did magnificently well against Pakistan yesterday , we snatched up the victory which Zimbabwe deserved more than us. Hoping for the best in the 2nd match. :thumbs

Not much of a big deal against a light team. He is also practicing and resting for the upcoming important series against Sri Lanka and South Africa.

Well yeah there's no fun in watching Zimbabwe play against Pakistan, I mean no offence to any Zimbabwe fan but you'll have to admit their a very light team. Pakistan are also getting quite boring I mean their at the Bangladesh level at the moment. Their much better than this.

Anyways beautiful 98* by Ahmed Shehzad.

You're underestimating them bro especially Pakistan , they're not the level of Bangladesh currently but like....you can say Australia as they're in a lot of difficulties as well (currently).

And yeah a magnificent 98* by Shehzad , sad he couldn't reach a ton , he should've not taken the single in the third ball of the last over , he should've kept the strike.

I agree with that, but what an amazing innings. Zimbabwe played an reasonable innings, it wasn't easy and yeah they've not been too bad.

Yep , they're improving. Now we know why they didn't had a perfect team because they weren't given that much chances. They should definitely take the advantage of these chances and build a perfect XI , a XI that will destroy associates , they should target the associates first , then try defeating , Bangladesh or West Indies , like this step by step and they'll surely form legends!

Nice to see Zimbabwe beating the most defensive, timid and spineless batting team in the world . Misbah is overrated as a captain. He has turned a naturally aggressive team into a frightened bunch of school boys. I hope we lose five nil with attitude .:cheers

Hah! That was a comfortable victory for Zimbabwe. They outplayed Pakistan in all the departments, lol. Brilliant performance from Sean Williams.

Sean Williams was brilliant - he came at a time tailor-made for Zimbabwe to lose the plot, but him and Taylor were very cool. Especially the way they dealt with spinners
