Pakistan tour of Zimbabwe 2013

Good to see Zimbabwe win.I wanted them to win some games against India too actually.Zimbabwe may not be a world power but certainly it will be nice to see them like what they were under Heath Streak.Zimbabwe should not be taken lightly, they should fight till the last moment.I still believe Zimbabwe can play much better.

Wonderful, wonderful by Masakadza and Williams were good today pulling off the match out of nowhere but then, everytime you get to see a player like Williams in Zimbabwe, you get a feeling he might shift to some other team.

SCUM-BAGS ! :mad :facepalm

Hala Zimbabwe ! :clap

Chatara, Panyangara & Vitori deserve a good part of the credit. Surprised Pakistan would bat first on a winter Harare pitch.

Sounds like Maruma struggled, but thankfully got a couple of boundaries, then got out.

Williams has been brilliant down at five, defiantly need to leave him there. Just need to find a number four, give it to either Mutumbami or Raza. (Not sure what he's done wrong)

They are one-up in a three match series; really need to pull-off another win, to give us the series. Would give us a lot of confidence going into the tests. :)

Also great to see Masakadza back opening; allows him a lot more freedom.

I echo this from my heart (Why blood same blood)

I am of the opinion they need an allrounder in their ranks. Someone like Querl or Sean Ervine would add a whole lot of balance to the side. That is, if no more senior players opt to play county over national team but I don't see either of Ervine or Querl coming back to play for Zimbabwe. Quite right in case of Querl if you ask me. ZCB has done nothing to sort his action out.

All credit goes to the Zimbabweans. I have always been a fan of Hamilton Masakadza. I have nothing but praise for him and the rest of the Zimbabwean batsman who played Saeed and Afridi very very well. Many congratulations. :clap

Oh Zimbabwe i love you.I still dont understand why Pakistanis hate Misbah.Masakadza and Sibanda did a great job and it is always good to see Taylor performing.By the way where is Sikandar Raza he is 1000 times better than Maruma
SCUM-BAGS ! :mad :facepalm
You realized that now :p

There is just one 'l'.

I always felt Zimbabwe has produced good players right from the 90s but unfortunately for them, many of their players have opted to play county cricket in a bid to get into the England team and none of them have managed to do so thus far. Ballance might be the first one wear English colors but the point is due to the migration of their better players, Zimbabwe cricket has been hit badly. The latest example is their premier bowler, Jarvis. Worst part is ZC largely depends on the grant received from ICC (latest, they received US $1.5 million in October last year) which does not help them shape things up at the ground level and in such a situation you cannot expect the board to pay heavy match fees to players and officials so they are not lured for playing county cricket which tells how hapless ZC is in a way. Furthermore, there are always an odd player like Querl who needs to sort things (read technique) out but ZC cannot help but let the player suffer and if in case the player gets the problem sorted out, no real interest remains for him to play for country thinking ZC did not help him in his tough times. It is a lose lose situation for ZC if you ask me. Only if it had all the money to pay to the players and getting better the domestic cricket more organized and facilitated we could have expected the players to stick to the team and one cannot blame the players for their decision. They have to earn their living too and it is an obvious choice for them to go for county cricket for they earn more money there.

Misbah is turning Pakistan Cricket to Street Tuk Tuk. Uff, we'll have to see him lead our team in World Cup 2015. What a win for Zimbabwe, beat Pakistan after 15 years. Whether they lose the series, this has made their team popular.

Bro, let me ask you a question. If Misbah did not adopt his "conservative" approach, how many times would the remaining Pakistani batsman capitulate in a heap and post a rubbish total?

I can't understand why he isn't playing. The only thing I've heard is that Maruma apparently plays spin better, so they've picked him instead. Maruma more often than not bats way too slow; he's good when it comes to the longer format.

Maruma. He is more or less a bowler who can bat a bit, isn't he? Apart from his surprise pick in the match against Pakistan, he did not get to bowl even when Williams and Waller did a little of their part time spin.

Exactly. Misbah is doing what Rahul Dravid did for India in the early 2000s - to draft the innings. He is Pakistan's only batsman who looks calm and in a mood to bat for long hours at the crease. If you have him out, I doubt Pakistan will score even 200 on a regular basis in ODIs. Run rate would not be a problem of course but that does not count when your team gets bundled out for sub 200 total.
