This is where I differ. This is my keeper:

Josh Hume
Stamina: respectable Wicket Keeping: feeble
Batting: proficient Concentration: respectable
Bowling: abysmal Consistency: competent
Fielding: feeble

This season he's been my keeper. In 15 league games he's taken 11 catches and 7 stumpings! That's better than any other keeper I've had. His secondaries help as well, I'm quite sure of that. Fielding makes no difference. So, he takes more than 1 dismissal per game and averages 63 in what is probably the hardest league in Planetcricket. That's why I personally feel he's a good player. It lets me bat down to no.7, and all of them can make 100s.

If I had it my way, Hume could be the reserve keeper! After all, he's not going to keep in a match, unless someone's personal fitness is bad or something...

Same guy, we could add another person on the list instead. Actually, Zorax's Tuckett can be in the list, he seems good.

I highly doubt it, since he can't bat and the stamina is low. No offence, but I'm sure there are better wicketkeeper-batsmen around in PC. He's a good keeper though, fielding makes no difference.
Fielding DOES make a difference. Take Fallon and Bolder. Fallon played more games keeping to Crouch against lower quality opposition, with higher skills but abysmal fielding. Bolder, in less matches, has gotten more stumpings, despite having lower average skills but much better fielding. Fallon, whenever given a chance, gets loads of catches, but no stumpings. Bolder gets a stumping practically every game.

Allan himself has said that fielding makes little difference. It's the conc and cons that affect it much more along with the wk primary. If you have a good fielder, who can also keep, my advice is let someone else keep who is nearly as good a wk but a bad fielder. Then you can make use of the fielding and the keeping skills of both the players. Otherwise the keeping skill is wasted on one and the fielding skill is wasted on the other.

He says a little effect, but here in WI Sledging, we have found it has more than little effect. It accounts only in stumpings (About 25%) and a bit regarding byes and leg-byes (Around 5-10%). So having Respectable fielding is a LOT better than Abysmal.

Nice to see Tuckett made the team though :)

It's hard to do a survey of this as there are so many other contributing factors. Maybe teams with more spinners get more stumpings. Wicketkeeper catches may be higher for teams with more pace men, etc.
