Each team needs 10 International players.

There are 14 teams, we will have 2 drafts; A and B. All the international players have been split up into 2 groups, Group A and Group B. Now, both drafts will be done simultaneously. What you have to do is prepare 2 lists. Your List A should be a list of 27 players (in order of preference) from List A. Your List B should be a list of 27 players(in order of preference) from List B. The 2 Lists will be posted soon.

Managers will have 48 hours from the time the 2 Lists are posted, to send me (via PM) their 2 lists of 27 players each in order of preference(The player you most want at the top, the next preferred second, and so on) , making sure to get adequate number of batsmen, bowlers and atleast one keeper in (you already have a Virtual keeper among your 5 Virtuals, but it doesnt hurt to have one more if you want one with better stats. Its wise to do so since keepers will get injured. ). The squads formed will be used for both tests as well as ODIs and Twenty20s (their real-life test career stats for tests, and ODI stats for ODIs and Twenty20s).

Allocation of players based on the 27 you PM will then be done like this :

Manager 'A' lists 25 players numbered 1, 2, 3, 4 ...to 27. Then the first player number in his list, if no one else chose him at number one, then he gets that player, if Player 1 is chosen at number one by more than one manager, then the manager who is listed higher in the draft order gets the player. The manager 'B' who is lower down the draft order will not get player 1 because manager 'A'already got him, so Manager B then gets the player he listed at number 2, and so on for every manager.

For example,

Manager A chose:
1. fred
2. bob
3. frank
4. louie
5. graham
6. james
7. peter
8. julie
9. lisa
10. david
11. mike
12. don
13. matt
14. wally
15. tim
16. kelly
17. chris
18. harry
19. nob head
20. nancy
..and so on..

Manager B chose:
1. bob
2. fred
3. ken
4. louie
5. graham
... dont need to list the rest.

anyway, with these picks ...
1. A would get fred because A picked him at number one and no1 esle
did
2. B would get bob, because he picked him at number one
3. A would get frank and B will get ken
4. A would get louie, both A and B chose louie, but because it is round 4, A is at higher level on the priority list, so B wouldnt get him this round. Instead B gets Graham who was next on his list.
5. A would then not get graham, since B got him, he would therefore receive james.
and so on.....

The same procedure will be followed for List B too.

if by then end of going through both lists of 27 players, some teams do not have a full squad of 10 international players, their team at that point will be posted here and they will choose another X amount of players from those players remaining in the pool ( to be announced later) to fill the spots they have left. This will be the second draft. If still some teams fall short of players, there will be a third draft, a fourth draft, etc till we're done.

Just remember that if you're too greedy and include many superstars in your 27, you might not get even 2 or 3 players. So mix caution with intelligence while making your list of 27. It is therefore important to select lesser players in your list too. So, pick the 10 internationals of your team keeping that in mind. You already have a virtual keeper. You need a real-life keeper in your squad too. You can either get the keeper through this draft, or via the trades later on.

If by chance, any manager gets more than 10 international players in the draft from both lists, he will have to drop the required number to reduce it to 10. Managers will be allowed to trade players only after they have done so. In case you get less than 10 (the total of both drafts, not 10 each draft), you will have to choose the remaining ones from the players left over after the draft. They won't be great quality obviously.

Keep in mind that the simulator for the games, which is Virtual Cricket 4, makes use of the following statistical factors :

For batsmen, keepers and all rounders:
-
Matches ( very few matches played means that the players record is averaged to arrive at a more believable figure. So dont select a player just coz he has a great average after playing maybe 9 or 12 games or so....the sim will compensate for the few number of matches hes played by reducing it ) As a general rule, the simulator is thought to favour experienced players.

Batting average

Batting strike rate is not considered.

Batting position - If you bat Tendulkar at number 8, the sim will follow a middle path between his career record and the general manner number 8s tend to bat. So keep batting positions in mind while selecting players.

For bowlers and all rounders-

Matches - similar to the principle in batting.

Overs - more overs means sim is more true to his record (experience counts).

Strike rate - very important

Economy rate - for both tests as well as one dayers

bowling position

Important points -

The sim does not consider number of centuries, fifties, number of wickets and keeping ability. However only players marked as keepers+ here will play as keepers. For example, Rahul Dravid is not marked as a keeper in the list below, and hence you cannot make him keep wickets.
