In order to grow the decision was taken to try and get better hosting than the free ones we had, and this was done by applying for free hosting at dedicated sports and sports gaming site varying from GA Sports to even Soccergaming. The Sports Gaming Network accepted BLC Online into its network and the site re-opened at http://blc.sports-gaming.com, where BLC Online still is today, on the 28th January.
This day also saw the first ever .Tim file download at BLC Online in the form of a Gray Nichols Millennium 5 Star bat by site webmaster Sudharsan. This was followed by a nPower pitch mat by myself and then the day after the first file sent in to BLC Online ? by ?Mike from India? a MRF Bat. Early February then saw the first appearance of a familiar face at the forums, in the form of Global Moderator Shailesh who sent in an Australia ODI kit to the site.
March 2001 saw the launch of the brand new and improved BLC Online forums, still at http://web.archive.org/web/20010418...ts-gaming.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/ikonboard.cgi which used the Ikonboard software instead of free forum hosting. The forum posts from this time are still in the forum database today which goes back to the first post in those forums, by a forum member called Ben - http://www.planetcricket.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2570 . Ben later became the one of the first people to edit the config files of BLC which has lead the way for Cricket 2004 AI patch creation and also custom fields in BLC/SWC.
