The Semi Finals are upon us! As expected there are some tough games at hand, but will there be more upsets? The Java Kings have continued to show good form, whilst the Baggy Blues appear to be handling their PFL woes slightly better.

Cup

1 ? Old Wulfs
2 ? BFN Bombers
3 ? Verizon Java Kings
4 ? Raiders Eleven

Plate

1 ? HuntingTigers
2 ? St. Johns Penguins CC
3 ? Tassie Titans
4 - Baggy Blues

Cup draw

2, 3, 1

BFN Bombers v Verizon Java Kings

The giant-killers, the new favourites - after beating the Tom Jones troup - have a tough game away to fellow South Africans BFN Bombers. Can the Java Kings continue with their moniker, or will the Bombers prove to be too stron? Key players for both teams are, fast bowler Eddie Samuel and batsman Darren Surmon (BFN Bombers) and for the Java Kings side bowler Dean Keigher and batsman Bill Jakobus.

Old Wulfs v Raiders Eleven

Wulfs v Raiders, a tough game is expected for the visitors. Will the Raiders be able to beat the Wulfs' home-grown wonderkids? Or will the guile of manager WC overcome their strength? Whatever the case, Ludlam will have to be kept quiet for the Raiders to stand a chance of beating the favourites. Key players to look out for are all-rounder Mark Ludlam and bowler Dwight Duncan (Old Wulfs) and for the Raiders Eleven all-rounder Bhasin Shana and wk-bat Ian Wotton.

Plate draw

3, 4, 2

Tassie Titans v Baggy Blues

Can you hear the rumble down under? Had these two teams not been paired now, my prediction would have been that this is the final, but that's not the case and we're going to lose a heavy-weight here. The PC newcomers, the Tassie Titans, will fancy their chances against a PFL dented Baggy Blues, can manager Syl save his Blues? Or will the Titans triumph? Key players to look out for are spin ace Glen Sawyer and batsman Danny Chavhanga (Baggy Blues) whilst the Titans have batsmen Edwad Harshana and Kevin Verde up their sleves.

St Jonhs Penguins CC v HuntingTigers

Penguins v Tigers, who would've thunk it! Even with home ground advantage, the Penguins have a battle ahead. The Tigers should be looking at this game and expecting a match in the finals, but will they deliver? I think the only thing stopping the Tigers from winning is a very good individual performance from one of those pesky Penguins. Key players for the Penguins are batsman Theo Spiller and all-rounder Rajagopal Suren. Whilst the Tigers have superstar batsman Gajendra Singh and all-rounder Thomas Gayle.

Just a reminder that the home team that must make the challenge, if they have not made it by Thursday, we ask that the away team make the challenge, there will be no postponement of games, if one team fails to make a challenge or arranges another friendly, they will forfeit the game. Please note that you have signed up for a championship which will run for 3 weeks minimum and upto 7 weeks for those reaching the final stages.

Challenges can be made anytime before that game, bar international one's which cannot be made on Sunday's or Monday's. Myself and WC will check the fixtures on Thursday to ensure that the game's are in place - but please do not hesitate to post if you have not challenged someone - if they are not, we will be in contact with the home team manager to try to correct this, but please on Thursday the away team should challenge there opponent in any case.

Good luck to all!
