Is he?

He is my fav player by a bit but from what i have seen of him he is struggling. So many half hearted strokes, doesnt seem to back himself. Never really looks settled. Whats going on... Is it the pressure of being skipper?

:mad

I think hes more mature than hes ever been, dont rely on form to tell you how good or bad a player is.

He is just starting captaincy, it's just what you expect. If you were captaining the national side, you too would be batting a bit below par. He will come good soon, and when the Test Matches start, he will get back into form and get going again. Plus the season has just started, what do you expect? He has not had any match practice in a while, and not spent much time in the middle. He only needs one innings to kick start him, then he will be away.

He still got plenty of credit in the bank. He looked out of sorts in the last 3 One dayers but you expect that after a little lay-off. He should be ok with some time in the middle.

No, every player goes through bad patches. He hasn't been too bad hes been playing a few good strokes. His feet aren't moving all that good like some strokes yesterday his back foot was moving when it wasn't needed but at least his feet are moving which is always a good sign. Its 10x better then if they werent.

He'll be fine just needs to play some cricket for NSW then he'll be fine

That wont be happening. He will be on the Indian tour when domestic cricket starts. He will probably only play 1-4 games for NSW this season.

Aussies next play India and we have habit of letting people get in form quickly.

He's just not nearly as good as a lot of people seem to think. He seems to go through too many bad spells for me. If it wasn't for the fact that the ACB have seemingly earmarked him as a future captain and therefore 'Golden Boy', he'd have been dropped a lot more often for me.

When you look at the players who could have been in the team in his place, he's lucky to almost always get a game.

Clarke has been struggling since CB series finals but he played a good knock against WI in the test series. Well I guess he has to play freely once again, from what I've noticed he's always trying to get settled too much and that's not his natural game. He needs to play some shots too.

Yeah, you'd drop a 27 year old averaging over 40 from the ODI squad. You're talking crap.

He's been rubbish in comparison in the last year and it's not as if Australia haven't had the likes of David Hussey knocking on the door and deserving their chance.

Australia have been successful through not being afraid to drop someone and ask him to perform to get back in the team. That doesn't really seem to apply to Clarke in recent years.

What cricket has he played in the last year? He played two tests in the West Indies and averaged 53 (48 not out in the second test and a century in the third highlighting that). All he's had aside from that is some ODIs, and his ODI form is definitely not poor.
