Hey just got a question about the super subs:
Suppose a bowler X performs really well and takes 5 wickets in first inninngs. When his team comes into bowl and he is replaced by batsmen Y. Now while the team is chasing, batsmen Y comes in and scores a match winning 80-100.
The question is whom do u award the man of the match award?
As far as the laws go:
'The replacement player should be distinguished from a substitute
as defined in the Laws. The nominated 12th man shall be entitled
to act as a substitute as defined in the Laws until such time as he
is utilised as the replacement player.
A replaced player shall not be entitled to take any further part
in the match save as the substitute fielder in accordance with
the Laws.'
Right... would appreciate any discussion and any history of whether this has happened since the rules were introduced
