This is what De Kock had said,

So I think this could just be assumed that he is plying for T20 franchise Cricket but it's nothing more than a rumour at this stage.

Like the previous star Proteas keeper, watch him play in every T20 league around the world eventually. Although remaining active in the other two formats will keep him in check for now.

Tests are probably the format where his absence will be least felt. Verreynne is arguably the best middle-order bat in the country now and will seamlessly slot in. On a scale of Jos Buttler to Adam Gilchrist, I'd say he falls somewhere in the middle. Did well on occasion (those hundreds versus the West Indies for instance) but it feels like he never did completely play as good as he should have for his talent. There was talk of promoting him to four or five as a specialist bat which shows how well regarded he actually was.

Not sure whether the retirements of Rajapaksa and Gunathilka deserve a mention in this thread. Well, here goes nothing!

Anyhow, the SLC hasnt taken these two retirements in their stead and have instituted a new law, wherein the T20 tournament NOCs can only be granted post a colling period of 6 months.

Gunathilaka's last test match was in 2018. This is almost similar to Raina retiring from international cricket years after being dropped.

Lost track of whether Raina is retired or not? I mean he plays T20, but internationally he's gone, I suppose.

There's 10 IPL franchises now, surely one side will buy him.

Rajapaksa's retirement is... peculiar. He finally established himself as a regular internationally.. only for the new fitness mandates and family commitments to make him quit?

Retired from international cricket the same day MS Dhoni retired

Always like to watch Morris play. I heard a lot about his hitting abilities as a slogger in the death overs. A brilliant death bowler as well. Although he did not rely much on his fuller deliveries to get his wickets but he used to nail his yorkers dead right. I mostly watched him in the IPL. One of his contributions was playing for the Delhi Daredevils against the Gujarat Lions in the 2016 IPL where he scored 82* in just 32 balls chasing 173 on a slow Arun Jaitley Stadium track with his side down and out at 57/4 in 11 overs!! Tough luck that Delhi lost that game by just 1 run. I wanted him to win the game for Delhi that day. :(

Unfortunately he was left out by RCB in 2021 season for Kyle Jamieson even after performing well for them in 2020 season. As far as my memory goes he looked the best bowler in those 2019 WC games against both England & India who were strong favourites for making it in to the Finals.

Thank you Chris Morris!

The former #Protea has announced his retirement from all forms of the game and will be taking up a coaching role at Titans Cricket Team - CSA via Facebook

Good that he's continuing to coach in the domestic setup. This is something that I feel the previous generation(s) did not do too much of and I'm glad that he'll be around the scene sharing his experience and expertise.

Not surprised that he hung his boots up, seems like he's always battled some chronic injury issue for sometime and was just one nasty injury away from totally calling it quits. Glad that he was able to secure one last payday avoiding such a catastrophe.

Sri Lankan cricketers, meanwhile, are trying hard to emulate their Pakistani counterparts- Rajapaksha takes back his retirement

Point to be noted- Pursuant to a meeting with the Hon. Namal Rajapaksa - Minister of Youth & Sports and after consulting with the national selectors, Bhanuka Rajapaksa has notified SLC that he wishes to withdraw his resignation

Family influence???

Mate, Rajapaksa is a common surname in Sri Lanka. They aren't related. :p
