I have to agree that this is the right foot forward by Rohit. To me, he wasn't the best ever Test cricketer- part of me believes Rohit got a longer rope in the format+ the sudden resignation of Kohli left them with no alternative- hence the last 3 years see Rohit play Test matches more than ever.
I had a feeling that his average would be less, but I was pleasantly surprised to see him averaging above 40 in the format, after playing 67 Tests- 12 hundreds too! Good showing.
As mentioned above, Virat would be the next to go- I believe post the England series? Remains to be seen though who will lead the team now- lot of talk about them not preferring Bumrah, but in my opinion, he seems to be the best placed for the role at the moment.
