Rohit Sharma = Overrated

ofcourse but do you know what is the age difference between the two ?
Badri is 27 years old. Rohit Sharma should go back to domestic cricket and perform for a couple of years. Dravid or Sachin will retire by then and Rohit Sharma can come back and take one of their spots if he performs well.

Jayasuriya did indeed average 14.26 after his first 50 ODIs, but he had 38 wickets at 27.7 to back them up...

Badri dob is 1980, and Rohit dob is 1987, and Rohit has already done well in Domestic Cricket. Also the diff. b/w level of Indian Domestic Cricket and Int. Cricket is huge. So let him stay in Int. cricket.
Also gambhir was same when he was young, but look at him now.

The point is when gambhir came in first he did not do well and he was left out and somwone was atleast given a chance. But Rohit has not performed since IPL last year why is he not dropped and why Others are not given a chance.Note that gambhir fougt back with performances later when he was again a chance after others were tried out. Here it is surely the mumbai effect

And age is never a factor Micheal hussey,RobinSingh ,Jayasuriya to name a few.Look at hussey he was given a chance as late as Badri could be given and today he is among the top

Ya i agree to the fact.Badri can be given a chance and even jaffer can be brought into since he is performing excellently well.

you're not getting the point. hussey, robin, jayasuriya, and i wud also add shiv. shiv is a very good example. he is in wi squad since early nineties when he was very young, perhaps early twenties. same as rohit. he used to do well but not consistently,

consistency is a mental aspect of the game and it comes with experience and exposure with mistakes committed at a earlier stage.

if we continue with rohit, he will be much better player than any player of that age, for instance at 27 or 30 he will be super player.

for now just let him commit mistakes and take the international pressure. if thrown back to domestic cricket, he would just comeback as average player, but if we stick with him he might become a great player.

also he intermittently does well and plays some very good innings. for instance last odi vs nz which india lost he was the high scorer in indian side when all of them failed. he is not a flat track bully but does very well in bouncy pitches, that is why he is special.

selectors should give him occasional breaks though.

Gambhir was the same he was younger, true. Sharma needs to be made to fight for his spot agan, like Gambhir had too...

Chanderpaul's case is different because he did not come from a country where there were dozens of quality batsmen breathing down his neck. More cricketers probably play in a single state in India than the combined amount of all Carribbean nations.

I completely disagree with your theory. International cricket is no place for a cricketer to hone his skills of concentration and performance under pressure. Especially if he has been unable to do this in domestic cricket (at least, statistically speaking). Also, I don't know why you think he would come back as an average player from domestic cricket--Ganguly, Gambhir and Sehwag have all been dropped from the international side and come back and more than solidified their place in the side.

Tiwary- Got PWNED by LEE in Aus
Badrinath- He should be the next in line for a test spot.
uthappa- nothing but a flat track bully. Should focus on his hair styles more often.
Wasit Jaffer- Biggest FTB in Indian history

Doesn't Rohit fall in this same bracket? Menis and Murali just killed him in Sri Lanka. And besides, Tiwary has so far failed in just one match, didn't Rohit fail in his debut as well? And mate Uthappa is the second best finisher we have ATM, loads better than Rohit. At least knows how to play good shots. And Jaffer was one of the leading run scorers of Ranji this year, with two doubles if I remember correctly, where's Rohit in this list?

Yep, judge a player after one performance when he was jet lagged :thumbs

Well, he hasn't set the stage on fire in the domestics like some of his other companions has he?

Well he deserves that Rohit Sharma. Higher average in both forms, FC and OD.

Tiwary just literally got off the plane and got a 155kmph scorching yorker from Lee first up. I'd like to see any batsman in International cricket face up to that.

Badri led India to victory in a low scoring contest in his debut match, against the likes of Mulari and Mendis.

Badri deserves the spot at the moment, no questions asked.

Btw, Uthappa is flipping amazing.
