Scoring runs

I got Cricket 04 for Xmas, and have only played it a couple of times as I am on holiday. Anyway, one thing I noticed was that most of my runs were scored by boundaries, with crap all singles or doubles. Is this just my style or does it happen with other people? The problem with getting mostly boundaries is that it can be risky.

I'm also really bad at ODIs, but I guess I'll get better with more games. I seem to be all right at tests though.

yeh i have the same problem with test most of my runs are
from fours and no singles or doubles,thats on medium level play on hard
and its a lot more realistic

but for ODIs play on medium because on hard its hard to score heaps of
runs cauz u need to time the ball perfectly and you need to get it of
the middle of the bat

nah its common to get most boundaries, but as you move into hard level you get more singles and "doubles"

Exactly.It is true that in hard mode runs are hard to come by.

once you get your eye in though batting is made alot easier

i was just playing this morning and i chose to be zimbabwe instead of india(don't ask me why).so i though i'd try to get mmyself out by trying to tonk the ball out of the park (this is on hard damp pitch).i ended up making 175 in 9.2 overs with 21 sixes and 11 fours.friend made 97 off 25 balls and for the innings(14 sixes and three fours).and i hit hit the boundaries by charging the fast bowlers.awesome ha?

The problem was there in Cricket 2002, but I hoped that it would be fixed by Cricket 2004. The problem still remains, and the fact is that it is just too easy to score runs quickly, and score them in boundaries. Cricket 2004 makes it much more realistic, by making sure that the wrong shot meant that you would be out, but as long as you choose the right shot to play boundaries are still ridiculously easy to come by, even in hard mode.
