I'll be barely missing a ball of this beauty. Just wish I wasn't going to be so busy during the second half of the series, or that I wasn't so broke at the moment that I couldn't splash out on some 3 day sessions of tickets :(

Apparently none of the grounds in England accept Vcash as payment for tickets which is a shame. Had been hoping to try and do 3 days at either the Oval or Lords for this but bills and basic sustenance will unfortunately take priority :(

I believe Mark Boucher has retired as a result of the eye injury sustained in the tour match against Somerset :(

What a shame for a long serving and accomplished player.

Bastardo! You staying in Leeds for the duration I assume? Should be a cracking test there at Headingly with some overcast conditions ;)

Yep it has now been confirmed. Very unfortunate for the guy... probably means they'll bring someone in who scores a bucket load of runs against England though :p

I wouldn't be surprised if he chips in with some awkward 50's and a hundred at some point :p

For me the biggest thing coming out of the warm-up for England, was that innings from Peter Trego.

Been keeping an eye on him of late and i think if given a chance, he could be useful addition to England's T20 squad.

On Boucher, sad way to end a top career. Not among the best keepers whether batting or glovework wise i've seen in my lifetime of watching cricket - but his longevity for the Proteas was superb.

Would have to go down as one of the most important players of the Saffies 20 year post apartheid era thus far.

He wouldn't be close to a Saffies All-time test XI though. The likes of Denis Lindsay and John Waite would be ahead of him.

His retirement leaves and interesting hole in the SA's order for the test.

The feeling is many people aren't convinced about Tsolekie as a replacement and some other names such as Heino Kuhn and Dane Vilas being suggested as alternatives. Plus the talk of De Villiers taking the gloves possibly.

I think they'd be silly giving the gloves to de villiers, it's not just that he's one of their best batsmen, he's also their most attacking top order player. take him out of the top 4 and it begins to look a bit stodgey to me.

I think wicket keepers are made rather than born so they'd be better just picking the most talented one with a good head and letting him bed in.
