A dry slow surface that would help the spinners in the middle overs. Pacers who can change their pace and bowl cutters can be effective. Usually batters who play spin well and can hit towards that short straight boundaries will have advantage.

Barabati Stadium, Cuttack​

Usually slow in nature but the hard bounce and the fast outfield allows the batters to hit over the top of the in-field. Expect some high scores!

DR. Y.S.R. Reddy Stadium, Vishakhapatnam​

A slow surface with predictable bounce and a good outfield makes up for an even contest. Chasing down scores is a convenient option over here.

Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot​

A flat pitch with a fast outfield and a hard surface suggests that this is a high-scoring ground. The only good thing for bowlers is the long boundaries on offer.

M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru​

A typical graveyard for the bowlers plus short boundaries and predictable bounce makes it even more difficult to defend scores over here. Dew makes things look worser from a bowler's perspective.

If only we played a full strength team it might makes us feel a little more interested.

Perhaps crowds coming back will definitely make up for a better showing.

I like his idea but unless BCCI would let Indian players play in foreign T20 leagues, I don't support it.

I agree with him. T20s should only be world cups internationally. This 5 match T20 series is a joke!

Cricket itself have become a joke in pursuit commercializing it. From my POV I would be more concerned about the performances of Indian team than these leagues around the world. But majority of followers think the other way around.

Plus the toxic social media, memes and crazy media hype have made people run away from this sport and find some other source of alternatives for their entertainment.

I think this is a confirmation that we are going to have some sort of role clarity as to what we are expecting from the players. And with what Dravid said, for sure Hardik isn't going to bat at no 3/4 just because he had a great IPL season with the bat.

• Ruturaj is in a similar mould as that of KLR and also he is a RHB so even though Kishan has had a below-par IPL, he can still be trusted
• Iyer did have a great series against Sri Lanka batting at 3, so I see no reason to move him from there considering we don't have either of SKY/Kohli
• Deepak Hooda has been sensational for quite a while now plus he offers part-time spin and hence he has made the team despite DK having better numbers in IPL this season.
• Rishabh Pant is a designated vice-Captain so he would definitely be playing almost all game, and I have always felt that no.5 is the best spot for him to offer.
• As a finisher, Hardik will bat at his usual position of no.6.
• Axar is a like for like of Ravindra Jadeja
• Bhuvi & Yuzi are definitely a must to India's T20 lineup so can't keep them out.
• Harshal continues to retain his place followed by an extended run of good form.
• I just feel this is the right opportunity to try something different hence I would like to see Umran play ahead of Avesh Khan in this series.

I had guessed that Pant will become the youngest Indian to captain team India in T20 Internationals, but I was wrong.

Suresh Raina captained India in a T20I when he was 23 years and 197 days old.

Rishabh Pant on the other hand is 24 years old.

In the hindsight, it won't be a bad idea to move on without Deepak Hooda and have DK come in. Also the 3rd seamer seems unnecessary since we are playing in India. So it goes as-

I think India should just look to churn out their back ups and reserves at first. The less the players to choose from, the better it would be.

Tbh I don't find any flaws in the XI that played in the last tournament apart from the mindset/approach. And it all could change with the help of role clarity.

I think the right balance going forward should be 4 batters, 2 all rounder, 1 finisher & 4 bowlers. And this should be irrespective of conditions we play in.
