Steam Down = No DBC17

The unfortunate reality of the online requirement is that it is tied to Steam being online. At the moment Steam is down so even if I launch it offline I can't play DBC17. This is made worse by the fact that Steam is going to go down at peak times, just when there's enough free time to enjoy some DBC!

Then so be it. I don't lose sleep over games not being made for PC especially games that are console priorities. They way the logo editor and modding was implemented shows the PC version is last priority anyway.

But in DBC case no online requirement will equal no future iterations on PC?
Same happens for console players if say PSN is down for maintenance...i cannot login either and therefor cannot play...but it clearly states on the box ... being online is a requirement. DBC is by no means the only game affected by this.

I don't think that is strictly true. DBC 14 initially was not exactly "out of the box" modifiable neither. Personally, I commend BA for what they have done. At least 75% of what was possible on PC is now possible on console, where previously we'd be talking about players only. The rest will come later.

There is no reason why it couldn't have been at the same level out of the box for 17 as it was 14, except that it was intentional to take away from the PC version to give to the console version. It's not even modding either it's just using an in game feature which is inferior to the modding capabilities of the previous version. Suddenly the consoles players in the world want convenience and modifications.

I'm a PC master race member myself, but im so glad console peasants got mods because believe it or not they are the taxpayers and investors of this game. Steam version of DBC isnt the one that going to be the most talked about in general nor the revenue earner to push out another iteration.
May be down the lane BA can open up a few more things for pc like last time if they are free after all the necessary stuff are fixed.Right now im happy with mods as it is. Yes a few things arent there but nothing you cant live without.

This is Problem which Hardly Comes , I Played DBC 14 for so Many Hours and so DBC 17 , But Never Faced any Problem . I will Say 2-3 % Steam Downs , I cannot Complain For such rare thing .

What Happens When You had no Electricity in your Home ?

I bought the game and pirates are keep away much satisfying to both Genuine Customer and Seller too

In South Africa our wise government implemented "Load Shedding" where they would disable a whole suburb's electricity for a few hours everyday (because our government did not have the foresite to provide anough electricity for a growing population!) so we had some fun times! lucky this was some years ago now and hopefully a thing of the past!

There would be no future for the PC version at all if the game was pirated, as it is the PC version may only just cover its costs but comes with a high risk of piracy and cannibalising the console sales.

DRM is here to stay, whether that be PC or console.

I would remind everyone that as a matter of good will and faith we introduced DBC14 with no DRM - that was a disaster, it was widely pirated.

I had no idea it was THAT much of a problem. That is sad to here the good things being ruined by thieves.
