Support for a new Technical section

I do not see the point in creating a seperate technical section. My suggestion would be to create a "Technical" sub-forum in the General forum, like how we have the Never-ending topics forum, etc. If that generates enough interest, it can get a forum of its own.

Thats what I mean,I just want to see a different section even if its included within General thread for technical topics, the different ideas that i suggested in the first post was the stuff that can be discussed in that forum.

I completely agree with you sid

Its something i want as i want to know how to create patches but trawling through the whole forums trying to find something is a lot harder than just having its own area

I think we should have an 'Official Thread Thread'. For all of our threads. What do you guys reckon?

To make Planet Cricket better it needs to achieve these:

- A fresh new look for the website, sort of a 'decorating job'.
- A 'newbies' forum, where new users can introduce themselves (and find the FAQ quickly and easily).
- A Cricket Shopping forum, where users can showcase items and find a link to a buying page e.g Amazon.
- Cricket Coach to have its own forum.
- A Technical forum, where users can showcase their work and find help for programs e.g Windows XP.

Out of all those, only the Cricket Coach one has been granted! Planet Cricket is an awesome site, but the admin is quite stubborn!

A fresh new look would be nice but I think its best to wait for the final release of vBulletin V3.5 and a vbportal version that works with it before looking at a new skin. Once this upgrade has taken place quite a few things will need to be installed again e.g. Fantasy Cricket, vBookie etc which is quite a long process.

A cricket shopping forum seems just like an advertising forum and a technical forum wouldnt seem to contain anything that couldnt be posted in the General Chat forum.

The whole forums are based on cricket and cricket games, the reason for a General Chat forum is for discussion of other things. If every single subject or topic had its own forum then the site would be fully of empty forums and it would actually be harder to find things the want. At present general techincal stuff can be posted in the General Chat forum and techincal issues related to C2005 or BLIC can be posted in those forums so there isnt really a need for techincal forum really.

Ste

ok,i dont have a problem with techincal stuff being posted in the general forum,so pls now all staff members treat my threads as normal one's and pl reply if you want.

I have agreed to your decision that technical questions can be posted in the general forum.I apologise if I directly or indirectly hurt any of your feelings.

its a good idea to start....looking forward to it

Please ste since everyone favours a new technical section, yyou should give it a try atleast to make everyone happy.

There has already been enough discussion on this matter,I request all members not to ask the staff for a technical section,as we have already had a fierce converesation on this matter and in future if the staff thinks its needed they will take the steps themselves and we dont have to keep requesting them, they have done a fine job so far and im sure they will do so in the future.
