Tatenda Taibu, the Zimbabwe wicketkeeper-batsman, has announced his retirement, stating that he wants to focus on working for the church. The decision ends an 11-year international career, during which he became the youngest Test captain in history. Taibu, 29, played 28 Tests and 150 ODIs for Zimbabwe.

Well, he offered some great services at times when was most needed to Zimbabwe. Few innings were brilliant and 2005 year was really his best of years and a batting average of 30 in both formats is pretty good.

Good luck to him

People have to release when Zimbabwe were nothing of a team and he was the man you made a large contribution to make Zimbabwe cricket alive

This guys is a joke, has been and will always be one, not even worth a thread in my opinion.

Zimbabwe need as many of their top players to rally round and make them as competitive as possible so this is disappointing to say the least.

Since Zimbabwe aren't playing a lot of the time surely he has time for both his church and cricket..............? He may regret his decision later down the line, he can do non-cricket things any time after he retires at an older age, but he won't be able to play cricket again once he's into his 40s................
