If you are getting the dreaded blue screen of death messages, post your mini dump files, and i, or any other of the pc boffins around here will try to help and diagnose the offending driver.


To post the mini dump do this.

Right click on my computer, click search and type this %SystemRoot%\Minidump

Open the folder that appears, and copy and zip up the contents of the mini dump of when the error occured, use the date of the mini dump to remember when it happened.

It's when the PC crashes and shows a blue screen with a load of 'useful information' on it (if you know what to look for) to tell you what caused the crash. What I want to know is can these be harmful to your PC at all?

They can be, it's windows shutting down to try and prevent any serious damage to the pc. It can either be the fault of a driver, or a piece of hardware on your pc. Either way, if your getting these messages I'd be worried.

No. I've never got it before (touch wood!!!), well I don't think so. So it shows all your information? Documents, passwords etc? It's a virus?

I got it a few days ago. Went out, few hours later I come back and there was a blue screen with random warnings and crap. Just restarted the computer and went back to normal.

No, all it does is list a report of the error, what process's were running on the pc during the crash, like anti virus etc, and a list of the drivers that are active on the pc, and the name of the driver that was last called before the error etc etc. It does not list anything like passwords, and it will not show your hidden stash of dog porn Gilly, don't worry!

Not that I am one to judge anyway.

i got a couple of BSODs when i installed Patch v1.1 for crysis........!
i uninstalled it and had no probs whatsoever !!
someone needs to inform them that patches are ment to fix
issues not create em.......

on a side note, the game ROCKS !!! :hpraise

Heh, i recently downloaded, i mean bought that game. Have yet to play it though or install any patches.

Kind of addicted to pro evolution 6 at the moment.
