Story The TT Lion's Journey, the "Original" Battrick Story.

And we're off in this all crucial match for the TT Lons Future.

We can tell you that Biche CC won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon..

20 overs are done(sorry for being so late). A full update following soon.

We are right on top here. Hope to bundle them out for below 150. Should be an easy match.

End of Over 20: 100-8, runrate=5.00
Drayton 5-0-31-3
Clitheroe* 20 (13 balls)
Roberts 3 (1 balls)

We have been expensive, but the wickets have come :).

Wickets:

8 have fallen, here they are:

1.2 W Atkinson to Horne
Through the gate the ball went, and to the pavilion Horne headed. A great wicket taking delivery!
Thats Atkinson for ya:)
2/1

2.1 W Deane to Heywood
gave himself some room, went for the pull, beats the bat and stump rearranged
He is a good young bowler...
5/2

4.2 W Deane to Gibbons
The umpire raises his finger for LBW. Gibbons is staring at the edge of his bat, he's obviously not pleased at that decision!
Its always the poor batsmen who get bad decisions.
12/3

6.2 W Deane to Cornwall
plays all round a straight one and is plumb in front
Lousy batting helped us there...
14/4

8.1 W Deane to Seaby
Straightforward outside edge to Crouch at first slip.
Steady piece of bowling
19/5

11.4 W Drayton to Coldicott
smacked the ball straight into the groin of Griffin who fell over, miraculously with the ball still caught in his scrotal area! Out!
Now you know why I carry a specialist fielder :)
50/6

15.3 W Drayton to Night
finding the thin gap between bat and pad , the ball ripped the middle stump from the ground.
Good old Drayt :)
66/7

19.3 W Drayton to Stamps
Huge shout for LBW and it's given! I'm not convinced there wasn't a nick there, dubious decision in my opinion.
I liked the decision.
94/8

But they weren't without a few fine shots:
2.3 4 Deane to Seaby
wider delivery, found the gap past gully

9.2 4 Atkinson to Stamps
forward, smacked into the gap past mid wicket and mid on and over the rope

10.4 4 Deane to Stamps
Solid drive screams away wide of long on. Pure timing.

11.2 6 Drayton to Coldicott
The ball was pitched to short and Coldicott quickly lofted it into the home dressing room.

15.4 4 Drayton to Clitheroe
nicely picked up off the toes to a vacant deep bwd sq leg boundary

16.5 4 Deane to Clitheroe
That's another boundry, great improvisation from Clitheroe.

19.2 4 Drayton to Stamps
Cuts away to deep backward point.

Second Update soon. :)

Crouch wipes up Biche CC for 113.

End of Over 24: 113-10, runrate=4.71
Crouch 1-1-1-2
Oakes* 1 (3 balls)

A wonderful two overs from Crouch has left us only 113 to win. Should be a piece of cake :)

Wickets:

The last two:

21.6 W Crouch to Roberts
thin edge and gone. Great take by Fallon, diving to his left!
He's a good keeper Fallon. Hope he bats well today.
110/9

23.1 W Crouch to Clitheroe
defensive stroke, beats the bat as it nipped back sharply, bails in the air
Nicely bowled Crouch :)
113 All Out

Bowling Figures:

Deane 10/0/50/4
Atkinson 5/0/17/1
Drayton 5/0/31/3
Christopher 2/0/12/0
Crouch 1.1/1/1/2

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

We'll be back for the 10 over update for the TT Lions innings.

10 over Update)

End of Over 10: 78-0, runrate=7.80, reqrunrate=0.90 (113-10)
Roberts 5-0-42-0
Cox* 39 (27 balls)
Delop 39 (33 balls)
I daresay this could be done in the next 5-7 overs. Crushing victory.

Highlights:

Many a fine shot played by the openers:
2.3 4 Oakes to Cox
Lofted drive away for four on the onside

2.6 6 Oakes to Delop
The crowds go wild as its slogged over mid-wicket and into the stands.

3.3 6 Roberts to Delop
Short ball is picked up early and pulled away to deep square leg.

6.5 4 Oakes to Delop
forward, flicked past a diving mid wicket fielder and a boundary as result

8.6 4 Oakes to Cox
pitched up, drives it on the front foot, down the ground for four

9.4 4 Roberts to Cox
poor ball on his legs, easily glanced away to the square leg boundary for four

And many a loose one too:

3.5 3 Roberts to Delop
That is great bowling, Delop didn?t know too much about that, but he will still pick up a couple.

7.6 6 Roberts to Cox
Fabulous catch on the boundary?but the umpire's signalled six!! Night put his foot over the boundary to take the catch!

3.4 2 Roberts to Delop
Delop has tried to hit over the top but didn?t connect fully, will still pick up a couple though.

Next Update 20 overs or earlier.

TT Lions cruise home by 10 wickets
Cox and Delop wrap things up with ease.

End of Over 15: 113-0, runrate=7.53, reqrunrate=0.03 (113-10)
Night 1-0-9-0
Cox* 61 (42 balls)
Delop 51 (48 balls)
15.4 1 Clitheroe to Cox
Drives to wide mid off.

A easy victory by us. Cox creamed the bowling, reaching his fifty in 33 balls!

Highlights:

First, the fifties:

11.4 2 Clitheroe to Cox
gently worked around to deep mid wicket region, quick running
And that's his fifty! Well played.

14.6 4 Night to Delop
Drives to extra cover and Heywood can't cut it off.
And that's his fifty! Well played.

Now, a few delightful strokes:

10.3 4 Oakes to Cox
late cut, into the gap over a bwd point boundary

14.6 4 Night to Delop
Drives to extra cover and Heywood can't cut it off.

Well, they took a hell lot of ones and twos...

MOTM: Karl Deane for his 4/50 in ten overs. His last two overs went for 18 in an otherwise brilliant spell.

Coming up, Reporter's analysis, stats and an Interview with manger Zorax Doom :)

"A Good Game, yet disspointing"-ZoraxDoom
-Lion Stands
We managed to catch up with TT Lion's manager Zorax Doom for a short interview:

PC: So, how do you feel about this match?
ZD: Not, bad. It was a good win, the team showing good form yet again. Cox and Delop have been brilliant.
PC: You spoke about dropping a few players, does that stand?
ZD: Yes, it does stand. Christopher really didn't impress me at all. I am afraid he has lost his spot in the team. Fallon has kept his place in the team for now. He did a great job behind the stumps.
PC: So does that mean it will be four seamers?
ZD: Yes it does. Leonard will be back, and maybe I'll give Gamble another shot.
PC: Also it was announced recently you were in debt?
ZD: Well yes, but thats taken care of now. This match was good for our finances.
PC: Thank you for your time.
ZD: No problem.

TT Lions Vs. Old Wulfs

We can tell you that TT Lions won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands..

End of Over 37: 128-3, runrate=3.46
Gamble 7-3-15-1
Haughton* 1 (7 balls)
Purse 10 (17 balls)

Gamble has done well :). Anyways, wickets package(not too many) following up. I have to say that at the least, I am pleased by this :)

Summary:

They were off to a flying start, reaching 60/0 in 13 overs, but we have pegged the runs back so far.

Wickets:

Only the three:

16.4 W Deane to Wilkinson
An inswinger deceives him all ends up and rips out his middle stump.

64/1

29.6 W Gamble to Lee
didn't get anything on that one, and is struck cleanly on the pad. The umpire has no hesitation in giving him out LBW.

105/2

35.2 W Drayton to Villiers
Villiers is beaten by the swing and gifts a thin edge to Bryant.

124/3

A lot of good shots played though. I think FreddieFan might cover those however.

We need our run rate up a bit, Gamble slowed us down too much. Losing Wilkinson was a blow as he looked in good nick.

Gamble has done superbly :) He has cemented a spot in the team with this performance :)

You could post boundaries, etc. if you want, here or in the other one. Kinda like your own point of view in the match.

End of Over 42: 156-3, runrate=3.71
Gamble 9-3-26-1
Purse* 24 (36 balls)
Haughton 13 (20 balls)

The run rate is picking up. I hope they hold them back down to below 200.
