I'll tempt fate just before the Ashes and say that Graeme Swann is England's most overrated player. Stuart Broad is probably the most underrated of their team, maybe Matt Prior.

In Australia, I think the overrated players are anyone who's not in the national team... Brad Hodge, Stuart Clark, Steve Smith, Usman Khawaja, Andrew McDonald. Fans here hate the selectors so much that anyone must be better than our current XI in their minds.

Underrated? Still Shane Watson for me. And Ben Hilfenhaus. Doesn't get big hauls of wickets, but he's just the bowler we need. Mitch Johnson's starting to be underrated now too - he's done the full overrated/underrated loop. Simon Katich too.

Other guys I think are underrated:
Suresh Randiv
Morne Morkel
Jacques Kallis is still underrated
and special mention to Mohammad Asif - loved watching that guy bowl

Dwayne Bravo

Pakistan's most overrated player has been Kamran Akmal. A crap keeper with a batting average of around 30 in tests is nothing special but he has been stuck with like he is the best ever. Muhammad Yousaf is also Overrated. I say that because I have yet to see him play a good fourth innings knock under pressure. Muhammad Sami for some reason is also over rated by our selectors. He averages the worst for a bowler with over fifty wickets in international cricket yet he has made his 13th comeback against SA and single handedly handed the match over to them . Umar Gul is also over rated in test cricket. He is a good limited over bowlers and thats probably it.

How can swann be overrated ??
He is ECB's cricketer of the year , was among the 4 nominees for cricketr of the year. has 100 wickets in the calender year across all formats , ranked 2nd and 3rd in tests and odis respectively. Carries an average of 16 with economy 6.5 in t20s .He is perfectly rated

Talking about now, here are mine
Underrated
India - Laxman, Dravid, Harbhajan in batting
Even now you see praises only for Sachin while Dravid contribution is ignored. Take a example of this match, how many of we wanted Dravid hundred more than Sachin yesterday? Sure Sachin is on landmark for 50th hundred but we should not forget contribution Dravid gave. Not to mention about Laxman, he has been underrated from ages.

Just one series doesn't tell the whole story . Even broad made a century at lords against pakistan in the 4th test and so did jerome taylor a few years ago.
However i do agree rahul dravid is damn under rated
