* Were you saving everytime in one single file? Because may be you can try loading the previously saved file.

* Open the saved file in match editor and see whether everything is right.. May be there might be two bowlers with current bowler thing which will initiate that thing of getting back to windows whenever you load the game. Or something like that might have changed dynamically during power cut.

* Save a dummy game with same teams. Open the previous saved match file(original one which is suspected to be corrupted) with match editor and edit the dummy file stats as per the current scenario using the match editor and start playing :)

You can solve it, Tom.. Nothing to worry about. :)

Yeah I was saving everything in the same file. However when I moved my saved games file to un-install the game I think I might have moved the wrong save game file as a 20/20 match between England and Aus is now coming up as the game that should be there not my Kent story files :crying

I am so gutted :(

maybe when he sad OH GOD at the end of the last update he got iinjured and was put out for a while.....then you can skip games until mid-season and he returns from injury

Can you upload your saved game file here.. Put the folder in a zip and upload it here.. i will try opening it. Lets see.. i am sure there must be some way! :)

I am repeatedly stressing to continue this because, It was coming on the right track like Short Leg's career one standards and it's really tough to start from scratch again.

I saw your PM and really don't feel like closing this story like you requested! :( Can you upload your saved game file in a zip, Tom? Lets give a last try.

I'll give it a go, when I get home but I think it's some random save game files, not the one's I was using for my story. I'll give it a go though. Hopefully it'll be somewhere on my computer :upray

Amazingly treva's idea worked. I oepned my recycle bin and there was the file I restored it loaded up my comp and it was still corrupted. So I un-installed replaced save game file and it works :happy

Story is back on. Expect updates soon :)

It's good to hear, Tom :) Always, it is worth to try till the last second before taking a new decision. Looking forward to this re-birth of this story :)

Sunday 7th April

"OH MY GOD!!!!!!! WHAT A DELIVERY" yelled Spearman from the slip cordon

I had just been given an absolutely amazing delivery by Averis. An in-swinging yorker heading right towards my feet. I saw it really late as I lost it in the back-ground due to the sight screen being poorly positioned. I managed to jam down on the ball just in time, but it got through my defences and started spinning towards my stumps  I threw myself towards it and kicked it away where it hit Windows on the knee at bat pad. He then collapsed over and needed treatment for a couple of minutes, I apologised to him but he said it was all fine. :)

Martin so far this season had been a bit up and down. He had looked in good form in a few innings but had so far yet to go on and make a big total, for the fact, neither had I. However this match he looked to be very nervous, watching him from the non-strikers end he seemed completely out of touch with numerous play's and misses and a very confident shout for LBW. I went down the track to speak to him after the LBW shout:

"Hey mate, you might just want to cool it down slightly. Just focus on the basics and play each ball on it's merit. Your acting like your being attacked by a wasp with the way you've been swinging that bat around :p"

"Yeah your right Tom. Cheers"

The very next delivery he was bowled :( A short-pitched ball had failed to bounce and gone right underneath his defences, knocking back his off-stump. I was gutted. Darren was now in.

There was now a lot of pressure on myself and Darren as we had to have a solid partnership. So far the bowlers had been doing well but nothing really that extrodinary. They had just been keeping a good line and length and forcing us to play at the ball. The conditions were doing the rest. Myself and Darren decided a policy of rock solid defence was needed and we really focused heavily on keeping a straight bat and judging the balls which we should leave.

It began to work.

Slowly the score began to increase. After a while I hit a few agressive shots. It was a very slow innings I was playing but it would have to be a crucial one. I was expecting of myself at least my maiden half-century in FC cricket. Eventually I really attacked the bowlers smashing Lewis back over his head for a one bounce four. The crowd cheered ironically. I knew it had been a boring partnership so far, but it had to be done. We were however slowly increasing the run-rate which was a good thing as it meant the score was now rising very quickly :)

Although I had begun to hit some more agressive shots, Darren still looked to be playing the defensive role. I was happy with this as it still meant that the partnership was growing and when he felt ready he would be able to start to knock the ball around. Soon he began to do just that with a straight drive right back past Kirby. It was a lovely drive and I thought that I would have to speak to Darren about it tonight and get him to show it to me. However disaster then struck. A short delivery struck Darren right on the helmet  He fell right over and Windows once again was the victim as he got hit on the head by Darren's flying bat. That guy really is unlucky ;) Darren got straight back up but did look a bit wobbly. Windows brought his bat back not looking too pleased. The very next ball Darren tried to cover drive it but edged it to Spearman, who must be a secret acrobat, as he took his second stunning catch of the match. I was stunned at the other end. We were in big trouble now.

This brought Andy to the crease with us in a terrible position. If I had to say who my best mate was it would have to be Andy. Although I muck around a lot with Cooky Andy is a true good friend and is always there for me. I hope to continue our friendship long after our cricketing days are over. Us two needed to build a solid partnership all over again but I must admit I didn't feel we would be able to. It just was not batting conditions. :(

Kent 56/5 off 25 Overs

T. Baker 14* (25)
A. Hall 0 (0)

J. Lewis: 10 - 3- 28 - 1
