Nice to hear Tom. Haven't posted in your story for a while so thought I would drop by. Looking forward to your next update. :)

Great to have you back Tom looking forward to this update.

Sunday 7th April

Eventually Andy and Jimmy began to head out. The team was really hoping they could have a good knock. We needed it from them. Andy would be facing first up. On the balcony we were discussing our chances. The conditions were not great but if we got a score of 200+ would be in a great position. Sillence had the ball after the break he came running in and released it. Andy played forward but the ball seamed away. Up on the balcony even we heard the edge. Adshead and the slip cordon all went up and Andy began the slow walk back. That was not what we wanted. Cooky was next in

"Come on Cooky you can do it. We want at least a century from you."

Cooky managed to rotate the strike first ball with a single. However things went from bad to worse as the very next ball, Jimmy edged the ball to Taylor. This was really bad. I won't describe what happened next as it is too painful, but from being 101/6 at Lunch we were 104 all out, just a few overs after lunch  What a pathetic total :noway

We now needed to have a miracle start with the ball. Andy and myself would be given the new ball. It was my first chance to impress with the new ball and I had to bowl well. A couple of wickets would be nice. I was annoyed at my score from the first innings but here was my chance to make up for it.

The skip got us all togther

"Right boys that was a rubbish first innings total. I know that the conditions were hard but that is no excuse. We will analyse what went wrong at the end of the day. Right now we have to concentrate on our bowling. Remember that the conditions are the same for them. Keep a nice full length and the edges will come. Everyone in the field needs to be sharp. Ok, let's head out there and give our best bowling performance yet."

That had been a rallying speech by the skip and had inspired us all from the looks on everyone faces. Me and Andy walked out together and we made a little competition to see who would get the first wicket. The loser bought the winner a pint. Wish me luck. We would need it if we were to get something from this match

Kent has been annihalated, 3rd top scorer with 16, hopefully the conditions are bad enough you to get the opposition out for less....welcome back its been quite without you...:happy

Come on Cooky you can do it. We want at least a century from you

famous last words

Not your best innings but definately one of the team's best, the top scorer was 27!

Great update, a good read and a nice speech from the skipper

Oh dear... 104 isnt really great - even for that pitch! But lets hope you can get a few early wickets then who knows.... u might even win! :) Gr8 update as usual! :)

Poor batting by Kent. Nice bet to get the first wicket. Same conditions can definitely get you guys some wickets.

Great presentation as always!
