I remember getting an e-mail where someone was trying to launder money through NZ and asked for my bank details. I almost fell for it but had a chat with my partner and decided out of it. It was very genuine , I had 4-5 e-mails exchanged with that person, obviously from UK.

There are simple rules to follow.

If you bank tells you they need personal information - it isnt your bank.

If someone you dont know says you can help them out and they need your personal details - they are out to con you.

If you win a competition you didnt enter - its 100% certain to be a con.

At the end of the day if these things fell through your letterbox you would just bin them.

I was binning them thinking of spam but out of interest replied to one of them and got a reply. :laugh I always thought its a bot which is sending them out but maybe not in every case.

Don't even open them simply by reading them you usually alert them to your presence and your spam will increase massively.

Yeah, usually I wouldn't open anything spammish but few things can gather my interest and I like to get to the bottom of things sometimes.
