West Indies Tour of England - July 2020

I like the Burns/Sibley partnership and I think it can grow. What I do wonder is if they can also accelerate at the right times but this is the type of over my dead body attitude we have been
Longing for.

Some of the criticism directed towards Sibley has been really strange tbh. You've been crying out loud for an opener who looks solid and the first time you get one, you moan over his strike-rate?! Yes the duo could improve versus spin and yes Sibley can improve his range of shots but your best opener prior to this duo was a bloke who survived making use of largely just two shots and looked bloody good doing it too!

Sibley looks solid. Holder was gutted when he dropped Sibley off Gabriel. It has already hurt WI.

This is why you have a specialist number 7 like Jos Buttler. The Top order set things up so he can come in and play freely and not get out playing a soft shot.

Well... Gilchrist probably wouldn't have been able to play with such freedom if Australia had been 150/5 all the time.

But, Gilly never really had the flair for a soft shot that Wor Jos has, so the idea of a solid opining followed by stroke playing at 7 is fine, just not with Buttler :lol

I mean I was being sarcastic in the first place, Buttler should've social distanced from the side after South Africa.

But he will get a score at some point and that'll be his ticket to another series.
