Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad (Deccan)
This is generally a good pitch for batting but since it is a bit slower and has a tennis ball kind of a bounce the batsman need to adapt themselves to the surface well.

Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram
Since this is a new stadium the pitch isn't much known till now.

Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
One of the most bounciest surface in India with a run-fest on offer. Slightly slower at times.

M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai

Historically a decent scoring surface but in recent times it is mostly a rank-turner. Skills to play spin bowling comes in to play

Dr. Y.S.R Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Vizag
The pitch in Vizag is generally batsman friendly but sometimes it spins a lot more and makes run scoring difficult

17TH_BARABATI.jpg
Barabati Stadium, Cuttack
Generally a low scoring surface with slower bowlers getting a bit of a help. In last few years it has been a run-scoring fest. The average first innings score since 2014 in ODIs is 372. Last time England scored 361/7 chasing 382 against India back in 2017

It will be interesting to see West Indies under the leadership of Pollard in india against india.

The squad isn't being announced yet but I think both teams would continue to have same squad from their last series.

I wouldn't be surprised if we had a Dhoni farewell in the first ODI.

They did not give Sachin Tendulkar an ODI farewell, while Sehwag wasn't given a Test farewell inspite of his request to the BCCI so I don't think that they would give Dhoni a farewell and I am sure Dhoni won't ever request BCCI for a farewell match and I do think they have moved on from Dhoni.

Virat Kohli (C), Rohit Sharma (VC), Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Deepak Chahar, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Manish Pandey, Shikhar Dhawan, Kedar Jadhav, Rishabh Pant (WK), Sanju Samson, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami.

Predicted Indian Squad for One Day for West Indies series.

So , MS Dhoni ............

If they don't give him a chance for practice against the Windies , then there's no way he is playing again !!!! This means they are done with him .

I guess, Exactly the same looking Squad which I had predicted before.
Just one change Shivam Dube in place of Sanju Samson.

So Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the series owing to a knee injury and Sanju Samson gets a call-up in the T20Is series.

Probably the worst time that he chose for himself to get injured when there are question marks over his place in the playing XI. I just remember only a couple of innings that he played were of substance in the last 12 months. That 92 he scored against West Indies last year at Chennai and a quick-fire 76 that he scored against Australia at the SCG. Apart from that he has done poorly.

A great opportunity for KL Rahul to consolidate his position at the top of the order.

It's in Hyderabad. The T20I in Mumbai is postponed due to some security reasons. They have swapped the venues.

India needs to take a firm stance on the T20 leadership. Would Rohit lead in Australia? Or would it be Kohli? I am happy to see Kohli back in the team and leading the T20 for a change. However, his prolonged breaks from this format don't seem to bode well for India in the long run.

There are tow additional items on the agenda for the selectors and the team management here.

1. Openers
While Dhawan has worked for India in the past, one can see he is struggling. Yes, its not secret that he plays his heart out during the ICC tours, but is it really worthwhile having a person as erratic as Dhawan in the side?

KLR hasn't done any justice to himself by being inconsistent. India has far better domestic prospects than KLR and they need to be groomed/ given a run, if the management wants to seriosuly win the T20 World Cup.

2. Wicket Keepers
Rishab Pant has started getting on my nerves. School boy cricketers play better than Pant. The concern with India is that they are not sure what they want from the keeper. Do you want a swashbuckling batsman like Afridi- then go for Pant and dont criticise his keeping. However, personally I think Saha is the safest pair of hands in the country and has shown glimpses of what he can do in T20. I'd rather a toss-up between Saha/ Samson for the keepers role.
