West Indies' tour of India (Feb 2022)

Good to see the U19 side turn up for this game. But why not let them enjoy a holiday after months of hardwork?

As I am typing this we have a run out. KLR was ball watching. :facepalm

Oh well! I never expected this- Sundar over Hooda? But again nostalgic to see Sundar open (he did some 5 years ago playing in TNPL & for the Tamil Nadu side). Also AFAIK we had some other Sundar opening the batting for India in the late 90s & early 00's. :p

Rahul is so frustrating! Nothing SKY did wrong there. Good move again to put Sundar in.

India's punt with Pant opening means they want an aggressive opener. Basically, this is pointing towards the return of either Kishan or Shaw to their preferred position.

Remember, both opened in their U19 days under the tutelage of Dravid.

I remember very well that Pant also opened under Dravid.

Deepak Hooda was supposed to bat these overs and he is the first guy to get out. :lol

Pretty sure this could end by the 40th over unless there's some panic in the West Indies camp.

Looking forward to Rohit's captaincy, seen him create a lot of pressure in low scoring totals in the IPL, should love to see the same attacking mindset here.

An intuition of a good Captain shown from Rohit while taking that review. And it certainly got Kohli excited as well. Even I did miss the edge. :yes

India are missing a pinch-blocking all rounder. That's how Ireland beat the West Indies.

We have our very own McBrine in Washington Sundar.

Good thing that West Indies are known for their brand of calm and composed cricket then………..

Well, the more I see India bat in ODI's the more I feel this format is useless :p. I mean we have so many freaking openers doing so well and we go for Pant in opening. What is our build up to 2023? Does anyone even know what their role is just like 2019. I definitely like the idea of KL and SKY in the middle overs. I think I would prefer KL and one of SKY/Iyer to take up 4 and 5. Also Virat just needs to take a break from cricket and this is all format. He is not contributing anything to the team and might as well sit out and get fresh and think what is wrong.

I am not sure I am liking this tinkering and all. I am sure Dravid and co have a plan but as an outsider right now, it looks surprising, confusing and limited overs in shambles feeling. Are we telling Dhawan its times up?

India XI so far

1. Rohit Sharma
2. Dhawan/Shaw/Agarwal/KL Rahul/Gaikwad/Kishan ----- WTF??
3. Virat Kohli
4. Iyer/KL
5. Suryakumar Yadav
6. Pant/Washington Sundar/Deepak Hooda/Venky/Hardik ----- WTF????????
7. Pant/Washington Sundar/Deepak Hooda/Venky/Hardik ----- WTF????????
8. Thakur/Chaha/Siraj/Bhuvi
9. Chahal/Kuldeep/Ashwin/... any other spinner?
10. Bumrah
11. Shami/Siraj/1.4 billion other people???????

Like I know we have a great bench strength but it does not have to be this bad of a problem.

I would love to see the below XI get consistent chances

1. Rohit Sharma
2. Ruturaj Gaikwad
3. Virat Kohli
4. KL Rahul/Iyer - Depending on fitness
5. Suryakumar Yadav
6. Rishabh Pant
7. Sundar/Hardik/Hooda - Depending on the pitch and fitness
8. Thakur
9. Siraj/Shami - Depending on pitches
10. Bumrah
11. Chahal

Completely forgot that Sundar's place will directly go to Jaddu once he is back and fit.
