Well, the more I see India bat in ODI's the more I feel this format is useless . I mean we have so many freaking openers doing so well and we go for Pant in opening. What is our build up to 2023? Does anyone even know what their role is just like 2019. I definitely like the idea of KL and SKY in the middle overs. I think I would prefer KL and one of SKY/Iyer to take up 4 and 5. Also Virat just needs to take a break from cricket and this is all format. He is not contributing anything to the team and might as well sit out and get fresh and think what is wrong.
I am not sure I am liking this tinkering and all. I am sure Dravid and co have a plan but as an outsider right now, it looks surprising, confusing and limited overs in shambles feeling. Are we telling Dhawan its times up?
I might well move Shardul to no.7. He is doing better than Hardik as far as his bowling is concerned and with the bat he is just as good. I am looking forward to an interesting line up here-
This line-up gives us a chance to play our best batters in the 50-overs format not necessarily compromising on our bowling. This line-up bats deep down to 8 and all these 11 players can hold their bats.
And hence this would answer the following questions:-
Q. Do we need Jadeja?
Ans. No problem he will play.
Q. Do we need Kul-Cha?
Ans. No problem, they are going to play with Jadeja
Q. Do we need a third seamer who bats well down the order?
Ans. There's Lord Thakur!
Q. Do we need to play KLR in the middle order? Then what about Pant?
Ans. Both will play in the middle order
Q. What about our openers?
Ans. We go back to Rohit-Dhawan
Q. What about Bhuvi?
Ans. He needs to prove his fitness in IPL & T20Is along with domestic games.
Q. What about SKY/Iyer?
Ans. Unfortunately KLR & Pant are more important to the side and hence SKY/Iyer needs to be on the bench.
Did not understand the move to send Akeal Hosein ahead of both Fabian Allen & Odean Smith who are renowned big hitters. And it's not like they can't bat in diffficult circumstances. We have seen them do that on multiple occasions.

I think Lord is a fad as a cricketer. In the crunch moment he will be pants down and he is not a patch on Hardik. The comparison is almost offensive. And I cannot fathom a team without SKY specially one with as many middle order calamities as India in the last half a decade.
