Pick your choice...

Which area of your own game do you consider to be your weakest.

Your batting wasn't that bad Colin! As you said post-match, you had a good platform but suffered a bit of a collapse. I did the same against young Matthew the other day except I ended up 108 all out!

I need to improve against the fast bowlers, although as the match against Colin went on I started picking the slower balls, which was my biggest weakness. I probably need to vary my bowling a bit more too.

My problem with your slower balls was that even when I picked them I mistimed them! I was actually late on the ones I got out to not early.

Batting, especially to full balls. When I've just come in, if I play straight, it keeps playing down the wrong line, so I have to angle the shot a little to get the bat on the ball!

I'd love it if this game had a (hard mode) practice nets option. I think it's essential for the next game - this isn't like EA's games, where you just play at the ball and the game will automatically move your batsman to where he needs to be. No, you really have to watch the ball, at least when you've first come in.

How to get people out who are settled and how to restrict the run-rate if someone is just slogging. I see that as something that to a certain extent is out of my control and needs to be fixed otherwise on line will become just a slog-fest what ever the format. Personally I would like to see a restriction where only one attempted lofted shot is allowed per over. I know it is artificial but otherwise it is way too easy!

It is after all, a game, so if any particular aspect is frustrating, such as someone slogging every single ball, or bowling every ball full, then restrictions should be imposed.

Defensive shots. I seem to get edges a lot or get hit on the pads for LBW.

I have basically taken out the defensive shot out of me game now for the same reasons.

After the patch , I feel that my entire bowling plan needs an overhaul. What used to get me wickets back then , doesn't work that well now. Not to mention too many runs are coming of my bowling.

Pre Patch, I don't think i needed to add much into my game. It was simple, effective & friendly :)

Kabooka, is the difference in offline or online play?

How is the bowling different now, can you please expand on that? Is it because the length is different now, bowling cursor different, do you get the same amount of time to bowl or shorter periods?

Loads of changes there. Its as if im playing an entirely different game.

In Batting, Edges fly more quickly & more catches are presented if the Batsman is hesitant or the bowler is confident. At the same time the some of the poorly timed shots also manage to trickle to the boundary. If you are playing in Harare dont be surprised to see lots of poorly timed shots go to the fence. The Timing for a shot has been changed considerably.

You have to play your shots of a fast bowler right after he releases the delivery on a fast bouncy pitch. On the other hand if its a slower wicket, you have to wait for the ball to be in mid air for you shot selection.

When it comes to bowling, the bowling hotspots have been changed. Now a bower has 3 Yellow spots to pitch the ball for every kind o delivery. But he has less time to chose where to pitch ( which also means that the batsman has less time to chose the direction of his shot ). Length has changed as well as the starting position of the cursor. Now the cursor starts from the middle of the pitch & not from a good length outside the off stump.

Some of the special deliveries like Cutters outside the off stump are not so effective anymore . The timing bar doesn't get as small as it used to earlier.
If you are playing a longer match & you are playing in Kolkata ( or any of the grounds that offer assistance to the spinners ) with the right conditions the spinner becomes very tough to put away . You cant play against the spin or offer a big shot every ball. Even with the big timing bar you will offer edges & loop catches in the air. BTW a cutter bowled by a good bowler really does some excellent movement in the air. same can be said for a spinner.

Fielding has somewhat remained the same. Offline play seems to balance itself out as the AI can be bested easily. Its in the online play where i feel that the new physics are making maximum impact.

All in all , im impressed as there will be no more 1 sided matches & less people will get frustrated & quit.

Hopefully this post helps you :)

Thanks for that Kabooka. This sounds like a totaly different game now but more realistic!

So you can bowl at only three spots at any given time and no more? Will this solve the online issue many people have by moving the bowling cursor all around the place?

It appears from your description that they have addressed the spin bowlers being so ineffective with the original release.
