Close of Play:

Day 1: Australia 240, West Indies 47/2 (Smith 22*, Drakes 12*; 15 overs)

Day 2: West Indies 240, Australia 171/0 (Langer 80*, Hayden 79*; 39 overs)

Quite ironic...those first innings' scores... but I think the Windies were the better...because all the tail reached double figures....

But once again...West Indies' fielding has led them to be 171 runs behind with 3 full ****ing days left

if aussies put up a good total than I think it will be tough for WI to chase

Well done to Australia for getting hold of the last session. they really came out on the front foot and finished with a more than respectable run rate of 4.5. i really want Steve Waugh to get another ton to level up with Sachin Tendulkar, it would be nice to see a contest as to who can pass Gavaskar first  Australia play Bangladesh and Zimbabwe next so you would have to back the old horse...it just depends if he actually gets an opportunity to bat the way they are playing at the moment :D

thanks

Lawson's action to come under scrutiny
Wisden CricInfo staff - 11 May 2003

An astonishing week of success for Jermaine Lawson may be about to turn sour, after it was reported that the match referee, Mike Procter, had requested videotapes of his bowling action.

Lawson, 21, took a career-best 7 for 78 - the best figures in a Test in Antigua - as Australia were bowled out for 240 in their first innings on Friday. That effort followed swiftly on from his hat-trick in the closing stages of the third Test in Barbados, and he had been consistently recording bowling speeds in excess of 90mph.

But he was unable to take the field on the third day of the Test after suffering a back strain, and Procter will now be taking a closer look at his action, which like that of Brett Lee and Shoaib Akhtar, appears to involve a certain degree of hyper-extension.

to tell you the truth Lee's action looked more suspicious at first than Lawson's now.
Hyper-extension....explain further someone
