Hi Guys

I play as a wrist spinner and in around 10 tests and 4-5 ODI, i cannot recall a single LBW decision.

There are a couple i felt were plumb, however i'm not one to complain. Utterly LOVE this game and im excited about the incredible platform this game offers for the cricketing future.

However has anyone else felt that LBW are somewhat rare for a wrist spinner?

Cheers, Joe.

I have found that checking the review system usually shows me what I'm doing wrong. Not bowling full enough or slightly getting the line wrong for the drift/spin I'm getting are usually the culprits. After some adjustment and a bit of luck the LBW comes back into play.

I'd suggest you check the big eye review system for every ball in your first over or so (even the ones the opposition plays shots to) to check whether you're hitting the right spot. In a longer format game, check it periodically as conditions can change. Recently I bowled several overs where I was sure I was hitting middle and when he padded one I realized the line I was bowling was finishing about a foot outside off. Missed a 5-for because of that.

Just adjust your line and length, keep practicing. Game allows you to get good LBWs & bowled if you surprise the batsman, have got couple of times 'successful LBW shout' awards as wrist & offie. :)

i've only got caught out's with my spinner :'( lol

Yeah most of the times what actually happens is that the ball swings a bit after pitching for spinners, so most of the cases [where you think it was out] that would have been Pitching In , Impact In , Hitting Outside ...For that you need to adjust the line of delivery which is different for different conditions so when you get used to that then you will get some cool looking LBW....

Thanks for the tips.

I think i have an issue with bouce. In my opinion, looking at reveiws, it could bounce over the stumps, that is frustrating lol! Batsmen misses and your ball just goes over the top.

However i still think in the numerous matches i have played an LBW as a wrist spinner is rare. Maybe its down to the difficulty of the style of spin but just wondered if others had experienced it too.

A full top spinner (Triangle + L-Up) is the best ball for LBW from my experience.

I agree. Top spinner has got my only 2 LBW's from 60 wickets in County cricket. I'd say 70% at least have been caught at mid on/off. A few bowled, maybe 5 and the rest caught somewhere in the deep from AI slogging.
