Has anyone had any success with mods/patches for xbox cricket 2005 - if so, how is it done.
Thanks in advance.

I assume you have the game mounted on your xbox hd and therefore know how to ftp info from your pc to the xbox .
Its just a case of importing the info from the patched fsh files(pc) to the original xsh files (xbox)

I use the following tools :
Fshed
Xshed
BigGUI
A.F.5 Rename your files 1.1

I think most of these tools can be found on this site any you cant find i`ll give you links to.

All the file names for the various kits, grounds, pitches, bats etc can be found at http://www.planetcricket.org/forums/showthread.php?t=11327 the names are the same on the xbox as on the pc.

First ftp the data_xbox.gob from the xbox to your pc.

The easiest files to import are anything you download in bmp format ie one of Dazza`s pitchads

1.Open the data_xbox.gob with BigGUI and locate and export the file you want to patch ie..... 3eb8b8c31c1f381ae04eac077d9ea5ec.xsh - green (Aus/SA/WI/Zim)

2. open this file with Xshed
3. select ptad (you`ll notice the image is swizzled dont worry just continue)
4. from the tool bar select import to
5. Graphic object select new and find the bmp file you downloaded from Dazza
6. most important change the image type to ** 62h | 98 | DXT5 **
(whatever type of file you are importing kits stumps bats etc.. youve always got to use that image type)

7. update and save over the original file you opened.

Thats it just ftp your patched xsh file into the main cricket 2005 folder on your xbox and the next time you play a game on that pitch type the ea logo will have been replaced.

If you down load a fsh file instead of a bmp you will need to open the file with Fshed and use the export from feature to extract the image you want to your desktop, open A.F.5 Rename your files 1.1 find the file you just extracted and rename it bmp, then its just a case of following the steps above to patch the original xsh file.

the AI patches are big.files and can be ftp straight into the main cricket 2005 folder .

Hope that helps using these methods Ive managed to get all types of patches into the game apart from TV overlays but Im still trying :)

Thanks heaps for that.

But I cant find xshed anywhere so if you could direct me to that, that would be great.
Also, what do you mean when you say - "A.F.5 Rename your files 1.1" ??

Again, thanks for your help.
Cheers

Thanks for that mate, will let u know if i have any dramas,
cheers

thanks for patch but do u know is there a way to add a save game option after one over in xbox version?

Sorry sheraz but as far as i know thats not possible

Decc66 - when you say "select ptad" - what do you mean there? and also, in AF5 Rename 1.1 - how exactly do you rename the file? I am having trouble with this stage.
Cheers.

When you open the file that you are going to import your pitch ad to, you will see 6 objects listed in the left hand box of xshed ptad will be the bottom one.
Just click on it to highlight it and you will see a swizzled ( distorted ) image in the right hand window , click " import to " and select the bmp file you want to import.

Remember you only need to use AF5 if the file you`ve downloaded is an fsh file.

In the rename section of A.F.5 you`ll notice 5 boxes next to type, set the first 4 to "none" and the fifth one to "string". (make sure you also check the "ext" box) In the box under string type bmp.
Click add and find the image that you exported from the fsh file then click rename and thats it.
Hope that helps m8.

Are patches for the PS2 version available?

I`m not sure i only have an Xbox, but if the PS2 file structure is as similar to the pc version as the xbox one is, I can`t see any reason why you wouldnt be able to convert the patches that are available for the pc.

Thanks again mate - sorry to b a hassle. just quickly, have you imported the cricket bats file? Could you (if you have time) run me thru your step by step procedure for that? Like, what do you do with the "ros." file etc?
Cheers mate.

decc66 - i am having problems ftp'ing the files. for example, like you said, with .big files i should be able to ftp them straight into the cricket folder - so i:
1) open the cricket folder on my pc with a lan to my xbox
2) put 2 .big files (symonds face) straight from pc to Cricket 2005 folder on xbox
3) then when i go to start game thru xbox and choose aust etc, just as team is about to go onto field, the game fails...any ideas why??
cheers mate

Not a hassle at all toothy. I have imported bats into the game but to be honest i didn't bother with the ros file so they aren't assigned to the correct players ( I've been spending most of my time trying to convert the tv overlays)
I just downloaded the bat pack and converted the files, I've still got them on my comp in xsh format so if you want i`ll mail them to you and you just put them straight into the main folder.
If you want me to send them to you i`ll doit tomorrow its 1.20am and I've got to be up early in the morning to sneak a tv into work. I work less than a mile from Old Trafford and my boss who doesn't even like feckin cricket is goin there tomorrow on a corperate, life sucks.
Let me know m8 if you have any more probs.

thanks mate, that would be great - if you could email me those xsh files i would be very grateful - you should be abe to get my email from my info right?

Awesome to be so close to the match - yet so far away...ha ha. well, the aussies have a tough time to hold em out tonight (aust time) but we will wait and see.
i will have a muck around today with trying to get the stuff to work, but at the mo it keep failing...
cheers again m8

Oh and decc66, i did manage to get the pitch ads on there and put in eddies gameplay version - but when i tried to put in a couple of the bat files (i only did 2 so i still need that email when you get a chance) and symonds face the game froze - do you have any idea why that would happen?
Cheers m8
