This game just simply does not work in Windows 7. I install it, reboot, and Windows says it cannot start, does a system restore and goes back to before when BLIC was installed. No real information about what is going on. Anyone got any ideas?

Just bumping this thread...
Just bought a new Alienware PC and I get exactly the same, it wanted to install protection software which seems to be unavailable. Annoyingly it also (after doing the system restore) removes all the executes for my other installed software. Not a game I will return to for that reason!

The problem is with protect.dll & protect.exe. it is incompatible with windows 7
